Honestly, we are happy to get here instead of busy party all the time cancun and it’s areas. For us, this was the Mexico we wanted to see and experience. To speak spanish - very big plus, however, not all staff, but some spoke perfect english.

Casa Mate is a cute property right on the beach in Cuyo. The shaded beach area is heaven. The place is clean, the staff is friendly and the food is excellent! When traveling to Cuyo, you have to remember that patience is required and that electricity is not guaranteed. Cuyo is not for people looking for luxury, guaranteed internet, etc. It is a simple, rustic, Mexican pueblo, with people who work hard to meet your needs as best they can with what's available to them. A trip to Cuyo is always an adventure, but one that is well worth it. Hector and his team were friendly, helpful and very accommodating. Casa Mate was just what we were looking for! We'll be back.

There’s nothing quite like waking up to the sound of swirling waves and the smell of sea air through your bedroom window. Perfect place to enjoy El Cuyo coast: right on the beach, friendly staff and cozy authentic rooms! Sunbeds spot is comfy and picturesque. Breakfast has plenty to choose from and is very tasty. The garden view cabaña with little private pool was ideal variant for our kids🫶
The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are light and clean, and the staff are all so lovely. Situated on the beach, its the perfect location and El Cuyo is a lovely quiet town, perfect for relaxation.
The hotel was just perfect. Small and cozy with a roof top with ocean view and a good place to watch sunset and do yoga. Hammocks and nice places to sit everywhere. The hotel is situated very close to good restaurants and at the mire quite area of the beach. And of course Federico was a fantastic host!
El Cuyo is a remote village, perfect to relax, with few activities available, but kite surfing. When we were there, it was extremely windy particularly in the afternoon, but we still enjoyed walking on the beach and swimming in the morning. Nearby tours of the salt lakes and las Coloradas are well worth doing. The village does not have many shops or attractions, but locals will all be most helpful and welcoming. Sunsets from the pier are epic.
The location is perfect: right on the beach and right in the center of town. We were able to walk everywhere. The breakfast was tasty and very large and the view from the table is amazing. We enjoyed having cocktails and dinner at the restaurant as well. We really appreciated the fact that the hotel has a generator as there was a storm one night and the town lost power. There is always hot water with great water pressure in the shower. The beds were comfortable as well.
easy to find, well situated almost on the beach and near everything in town, you can see the ocean from upper balcony, fridge is handy, coffee maker also, wifi not bad for El cuyo, hot water, air con good, fan, big patio doors and small window in bathroom, good value for price.
