Highbury Colombo is truly exceptional, if you appreciate visual art, Sri Lankan culture and excellent architecture this is the place to stay in Colombo. Situated in a quiet residential street, the moment you walk in the gate you can feel the tranquility, the beautiful plants and trees along the path leading to the house add to a quiet and refined atmosphere. I learned from the very interesting hosts that the house was influenced by the work of the highly renowned architect Geoffrey Bawa. This didn’t surprise me as there is a wonderful flow to the building including the incredibly well designed suite I was very fortunate to stay in. I had a home cooked dinner and breakfast during my stay which was delicious.
