There’s nothing quite like waking up to the sound of swirling waves and the smell of sea air through your bedroom window. Beachfront accommodation comes in a variety of forms, from well decked-out resorts to secluded homestays and villas. Beach hotel amenities can include air-conditioned rooms, private terraces overlooking the sea and outdoor pools with adjacent bars.
Exceeded expectations. Very cool design and layout, and somewhere to chill out in the sun, drink, socialise, and hangout in or by the pool. The food is also exceptionally good given the remote location. Perfect location if you want to be close to the entrance for Semuc Champey. Highly recommended, but note that this is a younger + social hostel rather than somewhere for older travellers looking for peace and quiet or families with kids.
Private room had an amazing sunset view with hammock. The room itself was okay - standard for Central America. Also liked being able to swim in the lake right next to the restaurant- so refreshing!
The pita platter was filling and tasty in the restaurant.
The semuc champey tour was so fun!
We stayed here for 2 nights, solely for visiting Semuc Champey, and for that it was a perfect location (taxi’s coming by very frequently and they offer tours from the hotel). We also ate at the hotel, really great food. The rooms and property however are very outdated. The showers were dirty and there was a stank coming out of the drain. Beds uncomfortable, windows dirty. We also didnt go in the pool cause it was very dirty.
We loved our stay here. The property is breathtaking and the location is perfect. The staff were so friendly and the food was delicious. We are family style every night and made some lovely friends here. We are a couple but it would also be such a good spot for a solo traveller too. There is also a little beach onto the river at the hostel where you can have a chill day relaxing. We only had three nights here but we wish we had more.
Perfect location walking distance to the Semuc Champey national park, meaning you can explore it at your own pace rather than doing a guided tour. If you stay in Lanquin you’ll likely need to do a tour as it is difficult to access the national park. The hostel itself is nice, food is good, setting is beautiful and staff are lovely.
Location on the river is superb - so beautiful and tranquil.
The vibe of the whole place is wonderful - open, green, lots of flowers and a beach vibe.
The on-site restaurant is quite good (the French toast is highly recommended!) and they have a great happy hour
Gorgeous location and excellent value for money! Half the price of the Zephyr Lodge just across the way. Pool table and restaurant were good for the evenings and a panoramic view of the sunset from the pool was incredible.
It was amazing. We stayed in a private room with a private bathroom and the installations are very good. Very clean and the shower has hot water.
The food is amazing. The staff is great. Paula and Jaime are just lovely and amazing. The pool is just perfect to watch the sunset with some beers.
Nice rooms with ventilator. Perfect location in the centre of the village, close to shops and restaurants but I recommend eating in the hotel itself, especially for their breakfast. Also very friendly and helpful owners.
