We had an amazing stay! The actual building is stunning, if you ask the employees they will tell you all about the history of it. The staff was amazing, so helpful, always with a genuine smile on their face. I cannot recommend it enough. They were able to arrange taxis, reservations and help with the extras we needed. Last but not least, you should try the de-stress treatment at the spa. One of the best I've ever had. Thank you guys for making it a memorable stay!

Emilija, our host, is a gem!!! Before we left home she was prompt and very helpful in responding to all our emails. She gave us lots of useful information on everything from eateries, supermarkets and transport to touristy things. We made the mistake of not taking her offer to arrange a taxi from the airport; instead we took a taxi from the rank. It dropped us nowhere near the apartment so we dragged our heavy luggage around cobble-stoned Republic Street most of which is pedestrianised and crowded with spatially unaware tourists (a bit like ourselves) looking unsuccessfully for the apartment. Eventually we called her and she rescued us by meeting us and dragging one of the suitcases about one kilometer to the apartment on a hot, humid day. That's going well and truly above and beyond the line of duty. If we'd taken the taxi she arranged, the driver would have dropped us to our doorstep and it would have cost us the same as the airport taxi!! So take her advice. The apartment is refurbished and modern with induction hotplates, a microwave, an oven, small fridge and separate freezer together with a dishwasher and washing machine. The bed is very comfortable. Although there's a lift, I enjoyed the workout of the stairs. There's a small store immediately next door with a lovely, helpful lady owner and another store 20 paces away which between them have all the essentials including fruit and vegetables at very reasonable prices. There's a bewildering array of eateries within half a kilometer. We ate at the Beati Paoli which Emilija recommended for its rabbit. A good choice.

Breakfast served in a beautiful garden. The Owner of the property, a Marquis offered a free guided tour of the museum Casa Rocca Piccola. This was very interesting. During the stay we felt very much at home.
