We have really enjoyed our stay at Dar Barbara. It is a duplex apartment, that is basically your own house in a calm, beatiful, historic street. The house is situated on a small hill above Bormla waterfront, with its beautiful promenade, restaurants, yachts and views just within a minutes' reach. The ferry to Valetta is literally 3 minutes away, so are 2 bus stops (the ferry is better and faster than bus though). The house has everything one needs for a comfortable stay, including a fully equipped kitchen and washer and tumble dryer (which we gladly used after a rainstorm caught us unprepared during our trip to Valetta - it works perfectly). We also really enjoyed the super comfortable, soft bed and extra blankets. The AC in the house work perfectly and was enough to keep us warm during chilly december weather. We were a little worried about the house being a duplex with stairs, but they are from limestone and naturally not slippery, so going up and down felt really safe. Speaking about safety, the whole neighbourhood felt very safe, even at night. Unlike the "party districts" of Malta, this area sleeps at night and wakes up with church bells. Here, for a moment, you get to live amidst car-less little streets where every step is filled with history, walk the waterfront listening to the quiet clanking of parked yachts and spend your evening marveling at the beautifully lit corners and churches. We spend beautiful Christmas here and will return.

I booked Peter’s house for my family (visiting for a few days), we all fell in love with it. I wish I could have stayed there myself! The rooms are bright and spacious, super well equipped and comfortable. Peter is a fantastic host, I would recommend his Palazzino to anyone looking for a special place in one of the best areas of Malta.

Lisa has made this town house a gem. It is quiet, has been restored with a good mix of an authentic and modern touch. It has a roof top terrace with view on the harbour. You could sunbath with privacy or have a BBQ or chill. It's perfectly located, only 5mins by foot from the ferry to Valetta, 5mins from Birgu/Vittoriosa, lots of eateries and cafes nearby and on the water front. We always had parking 2mins by foot on a public carpark. We made use of the washing machine. The beds are comfy. The shower has enough water pressure and hot water and the electricity always worked (unlike our other stay in another house on Gozo..). The door code was practical as we were three adults.

The owner of the apartment was extremely nice and helpful :) Everything looks the same as in the pictures. We could check in a little bit earlier, it was a big help, because of the warm weather. AC works really well. There were 2 beach towels provided, which was also great because we forgot to bring towels for the beach. The kitchen is well equipped. I can only recommend this place.

Apartment was in a traditional old house with patio inside and lovely view of the marina. There are steep stairs, across the entire apartment, but that belongs to traditional living in a narrow old house. We enjoyed our stay with two teenagers very much each had their own bedroom.
