Guthrie and Horst are world travelers and we engaged in interesting conversations about Scotland's history and many other topics. Such an interesting and gracious couple who treated us like family rather than guests.  Not only did they provide us with a warm, modern and clean room but also the most comfortable bed we have slept in on our month long trip.  The Mended Drum's beautiful gardens enhance the captivating views of the North Sea sunrises. Spacious and comfortable. Well equipped kitchen that was a pleasure to use. Not far from shops and warmed up nicely when it had been wet outside. We arrived late and left early hours but it was easy to navigate and we had no trouble getting in.
