This modern apartment is situated on the edge of a quiet, small village about 10 km north of Wernigerode in the Harz. It is on the first floor of a large former farm/barn building and has been well converted with two large bedrooms and a comfortable living space and bathroom. It is well equipped, although the kitchen area is a bit cramped and lacks a dishwasher. The pleasant, large garden area is being further improved by the very friendly hosts and contains many exotic plants and interesting ornaments and artefacts. A short walk up the road there is an excellent traditional Wirtschaft which offers very good value food and drink. Overall, this is a very good base from which to explore the Harz Mountains whilst being slightly outside the main tourist area.
