Hakodate
APA Hotel Hakodate Ekimae offers accommodation in Hakodate near Motomachi Catholic Church and Old British Consulate of Hakodate. With free WiFi, this 3-star hotel offers a 24-hour front desk. Goryokaku Park is 4.6 km away and Hakodate Goryokaku is 4.9 km from the hotel. I had asked a room as high as possible and I was able to get one, that made me happy. In addition the hotel provides movies and other entertainment freely from the television. Usually you have to buy a card in order to watch anything. This was a pleasant surprise. Price-wise this was kinda ok/good. Breakfast was good but understand that it’s a Japanese breakfast. If you prefer western style food, don’t pay for the breakfast.

I’ve stayed here a couple times and it’s always been super pleasant and convenient. Close to the station and a bunch of restaurants, has a parking lot for ¥700/night if you can snag a spot. This time they even gave me some free alcohol and a box of curry as service

We enjoyed a very comfortable stay, breakfast and dinner buffets both had an excelling choice and the food was delicious. Staff were really welcoming and helpful even though they didn't speak alot of English and our Japanese is non existent.
Quite a spacious Japanese traditional room, a heater to warm up the room as the weather was quite chilly. The staff were helpful too. An area on the 1st floor to play simple games which turned out to be quite fun as it was raining and we did not explore outside much.
It is very close to Sapporo station, a 5-minute walk. I liked the Japanese breakfast a lot. The staff were so helpful. A big bonus for me were the orthopedic pillows.
Sea view from room. Room is big enough to open luggages. Dinner was great with Japanese Italian fusion food, love chef’s creativity. Breakfast serves western and Japanese food. Love their home baked bread. Location is along the road to Bear Rock and waterfall. We spotted many deers, fox and a black bear when we drove out from hotel before dinner. Highly recommend.
Dinner and breakfast are all good. The receptionist was really nice and will try to explain everything to me even if I don't speak Japanese. Free shuttle bus taking you to the hotel (around 5pm) and bring you back (around 1pm). You have to book the shuttle bus by replying their email or call them directly before the date of your booking.
Staff was nice to give a slightly early check in which was much appreciated. Hotel also has onsen facilities which was a good bonus! Good breakfast spread, mainly Japanese options and was very delicious! Close proximity to Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station to catch the shinkansen. Also saw a stretch of sakura trees from our room too!

Extraordinary. Travelled w OnePiece fan and it was a dream come true. Parking was supercomvenient. Highly recommend. Super kind staff. Recommended to friends already; ideal for a family! I hope more people do this! Truly wonderful to stay in a Japanese home!! Would love to return.
Very clean and spacious for Japanese hotel standards. Amenities are nice with a lounge and public bath for you to use. So close to JR station and convienience stores downstairs. Close by is the morning market as well as very good seafood restaurants. Would stay here again!
Unlike competing chains (Toyoko Inn, APA), this one (or at least this location) did not use the super cramped all-in-one bathroom. It also had a chair and table set. So it was very roomy. It felt like a regular 4-star hotel at the price of a 3-star business hotel. The breakfast was also super excellent, using a coupon to an expert italian restaurant (but with great Japanese dishes too) -- lots of selections.
