Attractively set in the Shimogyo Ward district of Kyoto, APA Hotel Kyoto Eki Higashi JR Kyoto Station 3 min on foot is situated 500 metres from Kyoto Station, 1.3 km from Sanjusangen-do Temple and 1.7 km from Kyoto Shigaku Kaikan Conference Hall. With a restaurant, the 3-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a private bathroom. The property is 200 metres from TKP Garden City Kyoto, and within 2.2 km of the city centre.

It was close to the central train station. It was close to a few convenient stores and was also close to some of the past establishments we went to last time. If ever you get hungry you can just walk a few meters and go down the subway to find a few restaurants and coffee shops. It you walk a little further you can reach the main station to find even more shops. This location is very ideal. We will book this place again next t time. It was a small APA branch so there was not a long wait at the elevators. The front desk staff was very helpful in last minute request for my mom and sister/s room to be moved to a corner unit. They were also able to transfer me to a different room when i complained of noise. They are also helpful in arranging our luggage delivery to Osaka and gave us a discount. They also let us leave our backpacks on our last day so we can still roam around Kyoto.

Rooms at Kyoto Ekimae APA Hotel have wood furnishings and come with air conditioning, a fridge and an electric kettle with green tea. The private bathroom includes a bathtub and toiletries. Video-on-demand movies are available for free.

You get what you pay for. For the price it was amazing considering its only slightly more expensive than a hostel. Dont expect grandeur and staff that will bow and serve you all day but definitely great value for money. The amenities were also great.

This is my second time with the hotel chain and it definitely didnt disappoint. I was travelling with a pre-teen and teenager, and they were stoked with the onsen, free ramen for supper, and complimentary ice cream. The family room was spacious, with an additional TV lounge area where we could sit and enjoy. The breakfast spread was amazing! There was local japanese selection and international spread as well. The food assortment and layout suited the number of occupants at the hotel. I would definitely stay in the hotel again.

The hotel is rather spacious and luxury as compared to standard Japanese hotel chains, so it was a pleasant surprise.

The basic business hotel chain is always convenient with all amenities and basic breakfast. The twin room was bigger than we had come to expect in Japanese hotels. It was clean. The location was quite good, close to Omiya station (with direct link to Osaka) and a lot of bus lines.

It'a an APA hotel, you kind of know what to expect. Everything worked and the prices are reasonable. The location was very good for both the bus/train station, so it was easy to get to all the places you wanted to go. There was also a communal bath, which my Japanese wife wife made daily use of while we were there.

The APA hotel chain is quite standard across the country so I already knew what to expect, which is something I appreciate. Comfortable beds, clean rooms, fuss-free check-in. Also, I like that the beds are raised, allowing for luggage space.

APA hotels have great amenities and are usually well situated and their amenities are amazing. Japanese sense of hospitality is truely the best I have experienced for a 3 star hotel.

Wasn’t expecting but everything was excellent and beyond! The staff were amazing! The onsen was pretty good for a chain hotel in the middle of Kyoto. The rooms were very spacious for Japanese standards. And a total surprise was the fact the there were free drinks and small bites all day! Including wines and champagne!

The hotel offers the standard, very good experience of most Japanese hotel chains. It is located pretty well, near a railway station and in comfortable distance from Gion. I would visit again.

Very conveniently located near the train station, although a good 20 min walk from the more "lively" neighborhood in the city. Room is standard APA hotels, which is quite good and functional for Japan. Breakfast was quite good, traditional Japanese style.

Great location for markets, calligraphy course, specialist shops. Very clean and tidy. Good rooms, Japanese-sized. Helpful and friendly staff in main building - organised taxis for us, provided good information. Big kitchen with free coffee/grinding/brewing equipment, numerous cooking appliances, fridges and storage space for your food. Big lounge in annex building, also bar and lounge in main building. Fantastic luggage storage facilities for the day of departure, with lockers and coded/lockable bag-chains.
