In a prime location in the centre of Tokyo, MUJI HOTEL GINZA provides air-conditioned rooms, a restaurant and free WiFi. This 4-star hotel offers luggage storage space. Great facility as expected from Muji. The hotel itself is right inside the Muji store in Ginza with its own entrance at the back. Love having the diffuser in the room and all amenities are also of Muji brand. Would love to try other room types in the future.

Ideally located in the Taito district of Tokyo, KOKO HOTEL Residence Asakusa Kappabashi is set 200 metres from Kinryu Park, 400 metres from Sogenji Temple and 400 metres from Akiba Shrine. The room I reserved was very spacious and came with a well equipped kitchen and 2 different areas to sit/eat which was great for a longer stay. It is rare to find that much space in Tokyo at an affordable price. Everything was perfect and I really enjoyed discovering the little local restaurants and cafe nearby.

Located in the Sumida Ward district in Tokyo, MIMARU Tokyo KINSHICHO offers 4-star rooms with free WiFi. We booked the large family room for our family of five: two parents and children aged 9, 7, and 3. The room was spacious and had a very pleasant dining/kitchen area, where we started our days with a meal together, and where we sat down in the evenings before going to bed. The bathroom was very clean and the kids loved taking baths in the Japanese-style bathtub. If you travel with children you'll know that kids can't eat out 3 times a day, and they need some time to decompress in private, away from the hustle and bustle of tourist activities. The spacious room really helped us in this regard. MIMARU is a great place to stay when visiting Tokyo -- the Kinshicho JR station is a 2-minute walk from the hotel, and there are many restaurants and shops in the vicinity (including a 24/7 SEIYU supermarket). The staff were super helpful and very accommodating.

Set in Yokohama, 1.7 km from Yokohama Marine Tower and less than 1 km from the centre, Oakwood Suites Yokohama offers air-conditioned accommodation with free WiFi, and a fitness centre. The location is great. This hotel is in the Minatomirai area, which is where most attractions lie. You can walk to some beautiful parks, museums, shops and views of the bay very easily. There is a metro station right outside, and another JR line station is 10 minutes away on foot. A great supermarket, restaurants and coffee shops can also easily be found in the first floor of the building. Speaking of which, this hotel has simply stunning views. It doesn't really matter which direction your room is facing. At 47 stories high (at least), looking outside your room feels awe-inducing. If you're lucky, you will get a nice view to Mount Fuji as well! I believe this may be the second tallest building in Yokohama, and it definitely is top 30 in the entire country at 250 meters high. The staff is great, lounge is really classy and placed right in the middle of an actual observation deck (underrated though, so not crowded at all). Rooms are super spacious for Japanese standards, and of excellent build quality. Room cleaning is thorough and suited to your schedule, at least in my experience. Bed is super comfortable, and the desk is great for working a bit in your laptop if you need to edit photos or send emails.

The breakfast was amazing. The oninigiri station produced the best customized oninigiris everyday. It was just fantastic. The hotel was extremely conveniently located right across the street from Asakusa station. Amazing access to Asakusa Temple and walking distance (2.7km) from the Ueno Park and zoo. Just fantastic.
