I decided to go here after reading all the amazing reviews about this place, vibe, hospitality and food. And it did not disappoint :) The deers are everywhere!! We opted to go for the bird watching activity and the guide was extremely well versed with all the birds. They also have freshly made jams and pickles for sale. I love the fact that this place felt so homely and they employ the local folk from the nearby village. If you're lucky, you might end up spotting elephants or bears.

Visalam is a century-old lovingly-restored palatial home in Kanadukathan village of the Chettinad region in Tamil Nadu. Everything! The building is fabulously beautiful and serene. The staff was perfectly gracious and helpful. The trip with Shiva into neighboring villages , tile maker, market, and great houses was delightful, enlightening and fun! He gave us a very warm welcome to his village! Dining was a lovely experience and food was varied and delish. Altogether a wonderful several days in a fascinating part of Tamil Nadu.

This eco-friendly hotel enjoys a scenic location between the Veera Chozha and Cauverey Rivers in Southern India's Tanjore District. Mantra Koodam is one of the best properties I have stayed till date. The location, ambience, rooms, service, food everything was top notch . The rooms were very clean and had a lot of unique touches right from the courtyard type front to the waterfall type shower , the cute jar type soap holders , powder soap with loofah are a few. The beds were very comfortable and the room was quite spacious . Food in the restaurant was v nice. Highlight was the peacocks walking around the property. Highly recommend this property .
