Even though the facilities seems dated, the place was kept very clean. Hot spring faucet (80 degree celcius) in the bathtub was a plus. I loved the tatami portion of the room and the balcony with an ocean view. The receptionists were all very nice and helpful. We were able to leave our luggage there for a few hours after checking out.
The food was was very delicious, everything homemade and classik ryokan food with some twists. The breakfast was amazing. The outside onsen was very relaxing, especially in winter season. The owners had a particular friendliness in them, we felt extremely welcome.
We enjoyed the view of the sea from our balcony and the use of the private onsens they provide Yukatas on arrival and also provide room service during dinner to swap room into sleeping. We booked half board so we got breakfast and dinner. There is 5/6 private onsens available 14:30-midnight, upgrades to having an onsen on balcony which is available 24hr and a male and female public onsen. The private onsens were useful for us because of my tattoos. Shampoo and soap provided, towels provided.
Wonderful location with stunning views of Mount Fuji. Lovely onsen, with hot spring looking onto Mt Fiji. Rooms are spacious, we loved the Japanese Riokan style. Very good evening meal, french style cuisine and good breakfast too. This hotel is a little pricier than our normal choice but it was well worth it for the spa, food and views. Helpful welcoming staff would definitely stay there again.
Really nice atmosphere with traditional Japanese ryokan rooms. Three great onsens. Common spaces are great too. Super nice and warm service, felt welcome and cozy from the moment we arrived to Yokikan. Staff offered great info and recommendations of the area and even drove us back to the station when we left. Every morning and evening a table filled with delicious traditional food. Didn't want to leave!
The hotel staff was super nice and helpful. One of my friends forgot his ear-pods in the room and we had left Izu. The hotel staff quickly helped to send the ear-pods to our new hotel. Good view at the mountain and the stream from the room window. 4 private onsens for reservation and 1 public one. The futons are comfortable for sleep. The traditional Yukata was offered during the stay.
Great value for money in the area, gorgeous spot overlooking the river in a historical Ryokan. Lovely living areas. We wanted to try the private onsen but it was occupied for most of the night. Tatami mats are cosy and air conditioning is in the room.
-location is right in the centre of the town. -reasonably comfortable bedding and facilities - has a onsen/hot spring - historical and traditional styled rooms -relatively cheap - map of all the food places given upon arrival as the place is not equipped to serve food. Had closing time and cuisine. - Yukata and bath towel provided. - heating was adequate and I was not cold at all during the night
I loved the traditional Japanese atmosphere in this 100 year old building. The room had tatami mat floors and futon beds with super fluffy blankets. The staff was extremely kind and helpful and spoke English. The included onsen was a great experience and they had the option of both public and private.
