The elevator was out for 2 of my 4 days - staff told me it happens all the time and there was nothing they could do. They did not offer a room on a lower floor, I had to ask for it - but they did give it in the end and that was much better for my arthritis. Decor is tired, no coffee/tea making in the rooms, breakfast very basic and bad coffee. But you are a short walk from all sorts of better options.

When I showed up in at reception, it was 3 hrs prior official checkin time. I asked about the early checkin possibility, and the reception manager told me that it was possible with extra charge only. As far as I understood, the room itself was available. Usually hotels go toward clients in such situations. Just the next day I checked in in another hotel in manhattan and they no issues with early checking without extra cost

Convenient location, they allowed me to check my bag when I arrived in mid-morning so I could move about the city unfettered, and I was able to get into my room early (thanks to the housekeeping and front desk staff). The room was very comfortable and clean.

The heat and A.C. work well, but are a bit noisy. It didn't bother me, but some people might have a problem with it.

This is a small, quiet hotel, with an "old-world" ambiance. They have a small, but very welcome, free breakfast. While hotels in New York City are very expensive, in general, at least you won't have to pay the outrageous "Resort Fee" at this one!

What I didn’t know when I booked, was that the street behind the hotel is a party street. The Friday night noise was unbelievable until about midnight. Drumming for hours. I had been offered an upgrade by Booking.com. Maybe that would’ve gotten me into a room that didn’t face Stone Street. I should’ve taken the offer. I was in the basic king room. When I arrived and realized the situation, I asked to be switched, but they couldn’t. I am assuming that the reason I got such a good rate on a Friday night was because they knew that whoever was in the rooms facing the back would be tortured.

A very comfortable hotel in a superb area- Stone Street just behind it was brilliant for food and drink and could get to the subway easily. Really liked the large rooms which totally suited our needs, and staff were friendly.

some of the chairs in the breakfast room were entirely worn out, sitting not comfortable. The day we left happened to be a pre St Patrick's Day party in the neighborhood, which made the restrooms close and we were not able to use them prior our departure. That was very unfortunate.

The facility is very elegant. Room completely clean. I appreted the heat botton in the bathroom, a comfort that not every hotel has.
