Went to Initial room reserved , park wing location , was horribly disappointing! I was able to upgrade to a small ocean view room for a fare upgrade price ! Had some issues with the entry door … but was fixed in a timely matter !!! No coffee maker in room for simple AM pleasure !!!! I have stayed there many times , updating is always a work in progress!

LOCATION, cleanliness & thankful for valet parking ! The Hau tree on-site , fabulous! The lobby area & bar welcoming !

We loved this property. It's in a quiet location, but close to all of Waikiki's activities. We were sad to leave, but we'll bring back.

The hotel building can be very deceiving when you book online. Let me explain … so my wife and i booked here for our honeymoon and I upgraded to a room which looked on the pictures to have a beach view overlooking Kiamana beach park. However when we arrived quite late at night, we realised that the hotel room we had upgraded to was intact in the park wing literally in the car park!! And nothing like the picture on the website. (I think that picture was the other side of the park wing, so be mindful) just because it cost more it actually didn’t work out to be at all a better view. Restaurant is pricey and waiters are a little average. However the food is spectacular hats off to the chef! <3 U!!!!

The hotel building was very nice overall. The interior was very well thought of and gave an overall relaxing beach vibe! The staff were incredibly friendly somewhat Inexperienced but did their absolute best to give us the best possible stay. The views were absolutely INCREDIBLE from the views of the rooms at the front of the hotel. The beach was so clean and tidy and very beautiful! Also empty as there was a monk seal giving birth which actually made it quite pleasant that there were no people on it. - you can still access the beach literally 30 seconds away! The hotel also provided a complimentary lei making class which was an extra added bonus because it was a beautiful experience and to learn a bit about the Hawaiin culture. To finalise the location was superb and at the quieter end of Waikiki meaning you didn’t experience over crowded beaches and spots.

    I liked it all.

I have stayed at this property in the past when it was the New Otani Hotel. I liked it then and now. Location is good unless you have to get into the heart of Waikiki for shopping or dining as there’s really nothing closer to the hotel. Rooms are comfortable if a little small. I was alone so it was ok but it might be a challenge if more people stayed in a room. Not sure if there are larger rooms but both times the rooms were small. Last time I stayed there my mom was with me and I remember it being small too. All in all comfortable hotel.

No access to the beach. We could have shared.... Room was very small for 2 people. No coffee machine or microwave in the room.

Very close to a beautiful beach, however, due to the birth of a rare monk seal, we were unable to use the beach at all!! Beware when booking for a May vacation. Very clean room and bathroom, comfortable bed, friendly and helpful staff. Good views from most rooms. Convenience store nearby had all needs, including coffee. Split A/C unit was quiet and worked well

Restaurant pricey. The website was a little confusing. We thought the $25/day fee for beach towels, chairs, and some activities was included in our room price. It's added separately each day. The beach was closed during our stay due to a monk seal having a pup there, so we didn't get to enjoy the convenience of the beach right at the hotel...which is why we chose the Kiamana.

Excellent location, great staff, great housekeeping and valet, beach chair, and towel availability. Our Park Wing room was larger than the City View, and it was perfect for the 2 of us. Our room had lots of space for clothing and toiletries. There is a small convenience store at the entrance to the parking lot which has coffee, drinks, shirts, hats, gifts, and just about everything you could need, with a friendly, helpful staff. The Barefoot Beach Cafe is a short walk away and has delicious food and Pineapple Whips. The hotel is about a 10-15-minute walk to Waikiki if you want to avoid the parking hassles there.

I stay at this hotel almost every year. I adore it here because it's peaceful and the beach is superb—this is precisely why I keep returning! However, it's disappointing when the beach is closed, even for a legitimate reason. I feel that the hotel should offer something nice to guests as compensation for the beach's unavailability, like a fruit basket and champagne, or a discount on their stay. Given that seals choose this beach annually for birthing, it seems reasonable to expect the hotel to have a contingency plan. It appears the management is indifferent to guests' feelings. Additionally, the hotel has lost some of its unique charm. There used to be live music in the evenings and breakfasts bustling with tourists. I appreciate the cleanliness of the rooms; they have always been well-kept.

Old amenities. Hotel in need of a refurbishment considering the cost. Not the hotel’s fault but the beautiful beachfront was closed off to protect a monk seal. Very sweet but I’d have thought it possible to give the seal half the beach and not the entire frontage.

Close to Waikiki and on the beach.

They could upgrade the rooms a bit and add a few amenities, because the hotel itself is older and the rooms are small by today’s standards. And the staff seemed young and “in training”. They were polite and cordial with a professional demeanor. However they weren’t warm and welcoming and I would have preferred a more “friendly” demeanor. More informative rather than just answering whatever question you would ask.

The location is what I went for. It’s right on a very quiet beach, very family friendly, with a mix of some tourists. It’s adjacent to Waikiki which is just a short walk away. But so are areas where local people live. And it’s right across Kapiolani Park. So it’s quiet and green. I like that ambience. It’s not fancy.

The location of the room 823 had very limited view of Diamondhead and the beach and no view of the city. If I had my druthers, I'd have picked a room on the other side of the building.

The staff was super cordial, efficient, responsive, and friendly. They keep the mood upbeat.
