Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe rain!
The breakfast was just the right touch to start the day. Many choices and a friendly barista! I didn’t ask the name of the lad who checked us in but he was great. Friendly, efficient, attentive and had a great smile!

United States of AmericaWe did have to ask for another mattress topper for the pullout, no matter, front desk very accommodating. I noticed some static from the sheets but did not check on them, and promptly slept like a rock.
What did I not like! MSH exceeded on all counts. Can find virtually no fault, rather MSH exceeded all expectations from room price and size, to the last garage pass, to wine tasting and cheese, to locals info on MAX transport, to affiliation with Cheryls, which was off the hook!! Not a mega, sterile hotel, this one has plenty of original charm back from 100 years. The executive room was HUGE for the 5 of us, really nice kitchenette area. Shower was about 9 feet long and 4 feet wide, it seemed. Coffee set up may be had from the front desk, but we brought our own, plus filter and creamer. I didn't try the water as we brought our own. The beds and towels were quite nice. We were thrilled to get the last spot in the garage, it is a bit squeazy, no large suvs need apply, but very glad to have it. Overflow/large vehicles can park in the hotel lot across the street, didn't ask the cost of that. There is also a paid garage/ lot catty corner, which looked pretty secure, did not check that price. The location/security is overall much better than expected. It is clean and transients were not apparent nearby. Much better than anticipated. The MAX rail is within 3 blocks to the line to the MODA center which worked out great both ways, 3 teens in tow. Noted some temp shelters and some campers along the way, no threat perceived. Especially in light of some PDX trepidations and challenges, SMH redeems the city one stay at a time. So impressed, I have made reservations for another stay!

United States of AmericaParking is a bit pricey but it’s necessary.
I love this property. It’s my preferred first choice every time I go to Portland. It never disappoints and the staff seems to genuinely like doing what they do which results in a rarely seen environment. Truly. And the price due to being a Genius level booking.com user doesn’t hurt.

United States of AmericaThe only negative is the bedsheets felt cheep (they electrified and got stuck to the body).
Good location, nice staff, pleasant room (spacious), good price/quality ratio. For New Year we got some complimentary swag and drinks, it was a nice touch! A lot of restaurants around, everything walking distance. We also were lucky to get a parking spot in the garage, so it made our stay completely worry free (note - parking is not free, it’s paid, it’s very clear in the hotel description!)

United States of AmericaThe hotels cafe wasn't open as it was a Sunday night and Monday morning. The people in the room next to ours were loud but at least they stopped making noise by 11pm. Everything looks a bit worn but it also has alot of charachter.
Our room was spacious with a couch and a little kitchenette. We had lovely city views and were in walking distance to many cafes and a great bookstore. The bed was comfy and the shower was good. Nice to have a couch and the views. The price was great for what we got! To park your car you had to drive around the corner and go into a parking garage there. Once inside you could take an elevator into the hotel. Friendly and helpful staff!
