Hotel smelled funny in the hallways

Even though it was an old building... Smelled a bit musty, however the room was clean and the staff was exceptional!!

Both chairs had several stains, the tile in the shower was very uncomfortable on bare feet, and the corners of the bathroom looked grimy.

Staff was friendly and very helpful, location was amazing, the quirky art in the hallways was entertaining.

I can’t think of anything that I didn’t like. Was there 1 night

I needed an ADA room and forgot to mention at time of reservation. It was easily remedied.

One street next to the hotel seemed to be a spot of substance dealers and/or users (visible from the room), but the blocks around the hotel were overall safe and the roads relatively quiet.

Great hotel in the center of Portland, in walking distance to many sites of interest and public transportation. Stylish and spacious room with a kitchenette. Very friendly and helpful hotel staff.

I would have enjoyed a hot water jug in room.

Location was excellent, no need for for taxis around the city Centre, close to Powell's bookstore. high quality restaurants in immediate area. Very reasonable price.

We were kind of depending on the pull-out couch as one of our beds and it was totally unusable. Totally sloped in the middle so we had no choice but to sleep on the couch not pulled out.

Great area, right downtown near all of the restaurants and shops. Beautiful hotel with old charm but updated at the same time. Would stay here again just won’t use the pull out couch.

The location is right in downtown, so we did see some folks using drugs close to the entrance. But that has nothing to do with the hotel itself.

Loved how quiet our room was! We were so cozy.

When booking our extra night an additional deposit was taken. Despite the first deposit being received within days, we are still awaiting the second deposit. There could have been more places to hang damp towels.

We were very happy with our stay at The Mark Spencer Hotel. The room was large and the kitchen provided everything we needed. The bed was comfortable and the addition of the robes was lovely. We found the use of their laundry facilities really helpful. The reception staff were very friendly and helped us with a good rate when booking an addtional night. The location was also ideal.

No ADA access. So you have to drag your luggage up two small flights of stairs before you reach check in. Elevators are TINY and slow. The hotel is very old so there's that My heat didn't really work. The AC was nice however. No niche in the shower for my products No premium channels or PBS on the TV (not really a negative just a personal thing I have)

Great location, a block from Powells Real mini casement window that opened up, no screen tho. Has a coin laundry in the basement, no coins? Download the app they have on the washer. It's $2 for each Very well sound proofed. Can't hear anything unless the window is open and that's street noise. Mini fridge in room. Great water pressure, although it's a rain showerhead

Perfect location - its a short walk to powels book store and some of the best breweries in downtown. We got a suite which was spacious , quiet and the front desk was very helpful with all suggestions for a short stay . Also loved the wine happy hour :)

Would like an in room coffee machine. Don’t want to come down to lobby at 2am for coffee/ tea when I can’t sleep. Due to a very loud noise somewhere outside. Not the fault of the hotel.

Has been updated recently and looks very nice. Very clean great upbeat staff

The parking garage is first come, first serve and it was full by the time we checked in. Luckily the front desk staff had a couple of other nearby garages to recommend and it worked out being cheaper to park a couple blocks away in a public garage.

The location is perfect. Centrally located to great restaurants, Powells's, and other fun stores. We got a complimentary room upgrade too, which was super exciting. The wine hour from 5pm-6pm was a nice bonus.

A breakfast, included with the room would be nice for those days you get up early, and the excellent local eating places are not open yet.

The ambiance of the hotel as it was built long ago, yet updated to modern conveniences inside, give it a certain charm that's hard to replicate. Staff is friendly and helpful, and the location is perfect being in the Pearl District of downtown Portland.
