One of the mattresses could be upgraded.

There was no breakfast. But that wasn’t important to me.

They went above and beyond with amenities and the room was clean. Bed was old but I expect that will be upgraded soon based on their consistent pattern of reinvestment.

There's an off-leash dog who lives nearby and wanders freely onto the property, which is a bit of a nuisance for us because one of our dogs is dog-reactive. She seemed like a reasonably peaceable dog, but I couldn't really tell because I was too busy keeping my own dog away from her. We did encounter one other off-leash dog while walking in the neighborhood, but it was under voice control and in its own yard, so no problem at all.

This is a sweet little old-fashioned motel with considerate and capable owners. The beds were comfortable, there was plenty of space for luggage, a closet, a mini-fridge with separate freezer space (nicest mini-fridge we'd had use of in a month of travel!), microwave, complimentary popcorn, and other personal touches, including a cloth to catch drips in front of the in-room coffee pot, and complimentary makeup remover as well as the usual shampoo, conditioner, etc. There is outdoor space for doggie business, and the adjacent neighborhood has sidewalks. It was quiet and very convenient both to the highway and to downtown businesses and restaurants. Great value!

It was a very old motel, would benefit from some upgrades especially in the bathroom. Although it was clean, the tiles were cracked and grout discolored, which gave it kind of a negative appearance.

The room was very clean with a comfortable bed. It was quiet. We were glad to find a place to stop overnight that allowed us to stay with our little dog. It was very easy find the motel--easy on and off the freeway. The person there was very helpful with directions and restaurant recommendations.

Room is dated, and surfaces like counters and tables needed a good cleaning. I cleaned them myself.

Good location and nice and quiet.

A picky statement, but I wish the chair had fit somewhat under the desk area and I hadn't knocked into it on the way to the bathroom. No pool, but perfectly fine for off-season place to stay.

No frills, but cozy and comfy. Very clean. Reasonably priced. Maybe 10 units, easy parking. Quiet. Close to downtown. Welcomes pets and has a resident cat that was sunning underneath a car.

The quiet location and the wildlife ( deer ) in the parking lot was a nice touch.

Charming older motel, comfortable room, highly recommend!

The bathroom exhaust fan was an older, noisier unit - a very minor quibble. Checking in requires one to stand outside the locked front office door and pick up a red telephone receiver to speak to the manager or any other staff. That could be a bit of a nuisance during bad weather, but it's a necessary precaution for security given the small office size - not that the motel is in a sketchy area; rather, it's conveniently located a few blocks west of the La Grande historic city center.

There's no room at the front office to offer a breakfast, but manager Julie made up for this by providing tea, hot chocolate, coffee and even two bags of microwave popcorn in the room. We found the room quiet, including the old but effective heater, the beds very comfortable, and enjoyed the extensive number of satellite TV channels, travel booklets and pamphlets. Even the refrigerator had a separate top freezer door! I told Julie prior to arriving that my wife was not feeling well, and we needed to cut our stay from two days to only one. She upgraded us from one queen bed to two for no extra charge (normally $10 extra per night), and it had an easy access shower stall that allows one to sit if needed. This is an older motel with a lot of charm.
