The staircases were so authentic that they were very narrow, steep, and not up to code, which is understandable. Better lighting and a handrail would be nice. If you don't like hearing every movement and every step taken in the building this may not be the place for you.

If you like historical hotels than this is a good place. The woodwork was beautiful and the building for the most part was authentic in nature. It is very well located, and close to many amenities.

Breakfast was not included and there was old food under the couch that my dog found. I ended up asking for a broom so I could clean it up.

Loved the little fire pit area! Most importantly, the boardwalk and beach were one block away!

Switched rooms to a smaller room. Would have liked the original room better. Otherwise, no big complaints. And typing only to make the word limit!

Room was just OK- nothing special. It has a great location close to the beach and in downtown Seaside. Had a great breakfast there. Appreciated the efforts of the chef. The staff at the front desk could have been friendlier- they seemed disinterested.

One bedroom had no wardrobe and very small. No hot water available in communal room - had to keep asking reception to use their private kettle. Both rooms were facing the street so quite noisy. No one offered to help lift cases up the stairs.

I would have liked a hook or towel rack in the bathroom.

The breakfast was good but would have liked some variety in how the eggs were cooked. Choice each day was scrambled. I like fried and poached also. Sausage was good but again bacon would also have been nice. I like Splenda in my coffee and that was not available.
