“Such a good value hotel with beautiful rooms, beautiful grounds, spectacular onsen and good food to complete a wonderful stay.
For what we paid, I found it to be one of the best all round Ryokan style onsen hotel. Th grounds of the hotel are kept beautiful and do take the time to enjoy them from library, walking around the hotel and from the room. The rooms are very spacious, had all the nice amenities and well spaced out.
Onsen was one of the best ones we have stayed with outdoor bath set in a beautiful setting.
We had dinner and breakfast and both were special, had lots of local seasonal produce, well prepared,.presented and had great flavour. Again for the $ we paid, I thought this was great and loved all the meals.
Staff were well trained, very service oriented and had no complaints. Overall a great mid value hotel that we enjoyed and would highly recommend.”
“The accommodation is really traditional, exactly what we expected. The futon was suprisingly comfortable. The host was really friendly and when we checked in we were showed around the accommodation so we knew where all the facilities are. The location is also very nice really close to the Matsumoto Castle. I would recommend this accommodation any time!”
“Very nice hotel in city center of Matsumoto. Evening ramen and breakfast was exquisite. I would recommend this hotel for tourists from abroad, it can broaden your horizons regarding Japanese food. Room was quite big and comfortable.”
“We had an amazing one night stay at Hostel Yui-an. We would love to come back and stay for longer!
The host picked us up from Nagiso station after our walk along the Nakasendo trail and took us the short journey to the house. The decor was stunning and very well laid out and is such a beautiful home. Our room was lovely and even although the weather was wet and cloudy, the views out over the hills were breath-taking.
We had a lovely evening chatting to Erica and Yoshi (apologies if I misremembered the names!) while they cooked us a lovely dinner. I hope we didn't distract them from their working shift but they provided great conversation and great company! As well as the food we loved the plum wine and sake tasting, There was also some lovely gifts to purchase for taking back home with us.
10/10 - by far our favourite place we stayed during our trip to Japan”
“The rooms were a good size for Japan😊so neat and pleasant.
Liked that the hotel is well located among all the eateries and retailers as well as the train station! Makes moving around so effortless. And plenty of places to grab whatever kind of food you fancy🤗”
