Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThe pillows were not the most comfortable, but we were given 2 more happily when we asked. The curtain on our window wasn't block out so the room was a bit too light at night - having a block out curtain should be an easy fix. After a number of walks to the beach or distant cafes I was thinking it was a tad far, but then decided to just climb, wander, get lost, and take a different route every time, and the negative turned into a huge positive, with so many things to find in the historic town!
The location was fantastic. Loved walking over from the train station, and back when we left. There are closer places to the beach if you are only going there. The staff were very friendly. On check in we were told some people didn't like our room because the window wasn't a view window - but we walked into it and fell in love instantly and wanted to stay with it. Loved the funky shower, and the eclectic furniture. Much charm. 3 bars nearby but we did not have noise from them! Excellent 'Green Room' restaurant is a near neighbour. Old town is fantastic.

CanadaThe staff was friendly and helpful. The location right in the heart of the old town made it easy to access everywhere. The room was plain and a bit small but then it is a hostel. The bar right downstairs and 2 doors away is loud into the night. otherwise OK, Sue & Hal Vancouver Canada

United KingdomThe guesthouse is above a bar which means a lot of noise, but that isn't the fault of the guesthouse. Our rollershutter wouldn't close, and the air-con wasn't great so we had to leave the doors open.
The bed was fantastic, and the bathroom was great - full-size bathroom and one of the best showers ever! Staff super helpful and we were given a kettle to use with no extra charge.

PolandThe beds were uncomfortable, squeaky, and in pretty average condition The building looks like it's from the 1980s The bathroom looks weird - especially the toilet located on the elevated tile
Fine place to stay for one night - if you look for something cheap Good location - close to bus / train station and city center

NetherlandsThe beds creaked at the slightest movement. Leaky shower even when closed. No minibar to be found but clearly stated that there was and also has photos in the posting.
Location is close to bus stop and many restaurants. A bit further from the beach but still an easy walkable distance.

IrelandLong flights of stairs with no lift. No parking on-site. Trying to find parking nearby is quite challenging as the hotel is on a one-way road with limited space on the sides.
Location is good. Close to the marina. Bar and restaurants nearby. Rooms are comfortable. Reception is open 24x7 and they are quite flexible about check-in times which is very helpful.

Netherlandsthe window didn't open and close properly, but wasn't a big deal for me. The hotel is located above a bar, sometimes the music was loud. I brought ear plugs and I was always able to sleep so that was also not a very big problem for me.
Location is fantastic. The size of the room was bigger than I expected. The people working at the reception are friendly. The room was cleaned every other day and they gave me clean towels every other day as well!

PolandThe hotel is a bit hard to find as there's a big sign for a "snack bar" right on top of the entrance. Even though the reception is 24h, if you arrive after midnight you'll probably have to ring the bell and wait for the staff to wake up and open for you.
Very well located, near the marina and the bus station. Spacious room with a small fridge and air conditioner. Comfortable bed (although a bit noisy), clean sheets and towels. Small tv also was a plus

United States of AmericaVery basic, old room but that was expected. Window needs shade that blocks sun, pretty noisy (echo from internal stairwell & outdoor noise. Better attention to detail in preparing rooms (1st room had a broken outlet hanging out of the wall, 2nd room had a wadded up napkin in the corner)

FinlandTo increase the comfort a drying rack for towels/bikinis, a floor towel for the toilet, two chairs on the balcony as well a kettle could be nice. But as mentioned if only to sleep the guesthouse is of great value!
Guesthouse with very basic services. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom in our room was good. There are a few Irish pubs downstairs which are causing a bit of noise in the evening, but it did not bother us. Good location to stay and explore Lagos, within walking distance to everywhere and there are some cafés and restaurants around.
