The warm water pressure was pretty low and should be fixed.

Spacious house- ideal for a large family. Great terrace with hammocks to have some chill, meal and drinks outside. Private swimming pool was really great. Beautiful sea view and plants around. Several bathrooms which is very comfortable. House incl. kitchen was well equipped. A small, good supermarket nearby. Private parking. It was very good choice and pleasant stay.

It’s difficult to think of anything to say here.

The villa had everything we needed it has three rooms opening on to the pool area which was great for early morning swims, it was well maintained with lots of space.

All was nice. The furniture and overall condition is vintage, as other reviews mentioned, but we did not bother. Just be aware that there is no heating/AC, but the host provided electric radiators for the cold nights.

Great old house with lots of vintage character! The location is great, up on the hill with a great view. Garden and pool are nice. Lots of space in the living room/dining area. Great communication with the host. Parking available. Good WIFI. Quite at night. Just a 10 minute walk to the beach (very steep, so you have to be fit). Salema ist great. Nothing to complain about, we enjoyed the time here a lot and will be back.

Nothing to dislike

We booked this villa for a few holiday days weary of the previous comments, but after contacting the owner we weren’t disappointed. This is the first holiday we have had in the Algarve, and we were so looking forward to getting away. We booked for a few days with our two daughters and their partners. The villa was beyond our expectations. Large roomy bright rooms with comfortable beds. The place was so clean, and the bathrooms were lovely. We all loved the outdoor areas, especially the beautiful pool. The sea views from the villa are just lovely. It was lovely to sit out at night with the lights on. This was a very private and peaceful place for us all to just unwind and enjoy. There are some really nice places to eat within walking distance of the villa. It was very useful being close to a small supermarket where we could pick up supplies. The villa was in a great location for doing some sightseeing and we enjoyed visiting some of the other villages and towns along the coastline. This was a great holiday enjoyed by all. Highly recommended.

Nothing to dislike

We’ve just returned from spending a lovely week in this beautiful villa. The beds were so comfortable and the linen was very good. I am very fussy about my bedding but I have no complaints here. The kitchen was well equipped and nice and spacious. We enjoy cooking at home as well as eating out and found the kitchen more than adequate to rustle up a nice meal. The entire place was really clean and just like being at home. The bathrooms were clean and the shower really good. Nice big spacious rooms. We all loved being outside and the pool area is amazing. The kids loved it and spend all day playing and enjoying the outdoor space. The views from the garden are so lovely. There are various areas to sit in and enjoy the peace and privacy at this villa. We enjoyed a wee glass of wine in the evenings sitting outside in the night air. The host, was very good with communication and answered any questions we had quickly. We hope to return again soon and would recommend this beautiful place to everyone.

This is the first time in 15 years of using booking.com that I feel I need to leave a negative review. This is a pity as this villa could be a gem of a place. Problems were there from the start. We had booked for 6 adults and 2 children- there was only linen and towels for 6. One of the bedroom doors had no handles or lock at all meaning the door could not be shut. The shower room servicing two of the bedrooms had a broken shower rail and could only be used as a handheld shower. These issues (that had been there for the two previous lets) were eventually fixed on day 4. Other issues; no hot water on day one, several lights did not work, a curtain rail in the main bedroom was hanging off, there were bare wires on the light fitting in the en-suite bathroom, the garden furniture was either broken or very, very shabby, the hammock fitting was loose in the wall, drawers were full of rubbish, the first aid kit was a joke, a knife in the kitchen had a broken handle, no ironing board, the iron itself was in a disgusting, unusable state, the gates were secured by string, several window locks do not work (the property cannot be secured), a hand blender started smoking when used, no plug for sink, no washing up bowl. Following our initial messages to the owner her first reaction was to suggest that I cancelled the booking and moved out - not really a viable option with my family arriving on the second day of the let. Then she said I did not understand how difficult it was to get people to do work- not my problem really and there had been ample opportunity to fix the major problems but it struck me that she did not really care. It is clear that no one has been through the property and cleared drawers and checked the inventory for a long time. Above all of that in 2 days of messaging and calls, the owner never offered a note of apology or used the word sorry - until I pointed out that she hadn’t. I would not recommend the villa to anyone in its current condition.

The villa is perfect. Well equipped with everything needed. The owner, Maria, kept in touch with us and made sure all was OK. Just a short walk from beautiful Salema beach. I would definitely stay here again.
