This place is amazing. If it was in the United States, rooms would be close to $1000 per night. We had river views and a gorgeous huge room. Breakfast was perfect and the service was superb.

The property was magnificent! We stayed in one of the new bungalows, which was absolutely beautiful. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Even with all the windows there was complete privacy. It was super clean. Victor, who took care of us for breakfast and dinner for the two days that we were there treated us like royalty. He also makes a fantastic martini! The spa was wonderful. Make sure you get a massage. It was one of the best I’ve had. The views of the vineyards were stunning. We took a long walk along the river, which was so pretty, and we met a few mama pigs and their babies. We will definitely return.

Everything was perfect!

Amazing accommodations and staff! We stayed over Christmas and everyone was so attentive - they ensured we had a great holiday. Food was great, and the rooms really are unlike anyplace I’ve ever stayed.

The spa pool had recently opened and the water jets were not functioning yet.

The resort was beautifully conceptualized amidst the vineyard and incorporates the existing historical structures and buildings to make a fabulous oasis of relaxation. It is classy without being ostentatious. The use of wood and natural materials truly make it a natural wellness and spa resort. The staff was wonderful and the food was delicious. I highly recommend the cod Elmo!

Restaurant : great dining room, amazing interior, table setting, details, everything well designed. In my opinion the food hasn't yet find his way for the high level of the hotel structure, although everything seems fresh and people in the kitchen indeed do a lot of effort on it.

Existing 18th century Douro-manor house known as Casa da Lavandeira in Douro Valley area with a just opened contemporary expansion with spacious, luxury, independent suites in the concept of "contemporary treehouses" into the nature of the winery area. Great design, furniture, details, bathrooms. Nice staff. Clean. Large outdoor freeform natural swimming pool in the concept of a "lake". Nice indoor swimming pool also, next to a gym (spacious, with great view to the vineyards -a treadmill would be appreciated), sauna, Turkish bath and relaxation area. NIce outdoors spaces very well equipped. Beautiful walkway next to a small river for a short walk around the estate. Owner's amazing collection of old antiques cars, motor bikes etc on display. A scenic train ride that follows the banks of the River Douro is very much suggested.

The noble twin bed room has a step that we tripped on several times, but otherwise very comfortable.

Beautiful place. We LOVED the old house and how we could use the kitchen there. I think I could have stayed there for 2weeks! Awesome staff (happy, accomodationg, and energizing to be around). It's like two hotels in one: one an old (but luxurious) stone b&b, plus next door, across the vineyard, a brand new modern spa hotel and restaurant with a fancy new pool and gym. It was really fun to explore the house and the old car collection, plus fun to relax in the modern spa parts. The new restaurant made really good vegetarian food for us.

The property is beautiful, the hotel is unique in so many aspects, and the staff is exceptional! We had a very unfortunate issue that had absolutely nothing to do with the hotel, we contacted local authorities who were unable to provide us with the support we needed, we decided to contact the hotel management to see if they could assist us and they went above and beyond to anything anyone could have ever expected. Thank you very much to the hotel Director - Ms. Susana and the staff she gathered to help us in a very difficult moment. They provided us with an exceptional overall experience during our stay and, because of this we will certainly return to the hotel and recommend it to all our close friends and family.

The bed in the villa could be longer because for 186 cm height man is not so comfortable.

We lived in the authentic house/villa which was outstanding. Near the villa, there were many historical cars – old Porsches, Rolls Royce, Mercedes Benz and others. We enjoyed the pool near the main building of vineyard with comfy sunbeds. The nearby little towns gave us very pleasant food experiences. Just ask the reception of the recommendations.

This property is other level of hospitality. This is maybe the best stay we ever had. Design of rooms is outstanding, every detail is perfect from design, smell or towers, set up, landscape and the most important personnel that is more than friendly and welcoming, very well trained and speaking several foreign languages.

i wish the spa was ready to use, but it was to open in a couple weeks - i am sure it will be great.

the team here is truly fabulous. and often that's all you need for an excellent stay. kudos to the staff. from the manager to the team at the reception, they made sure we have an excellent stay and in the best room on the property. as vegetarian guests they recommended a really good local restaurant (which was a treat in itself). The views from Lavenderia are lovely and I will be sure to stay here again.

It was all very good. Signage to get into the property could have been better but they're rectifying this with a lovely new entrance.

The night we stayed happened to feature a degustation menu at the restaurant and the food was amazingly good, as was the wine. The views from the restaurant across the Duoro Valley were spectacular. We stayed in the original villa and the room was very nicely decorated, and the bathroom was understandably small but had everything needed and was very clean. The property also features a historic motor car collection and a vineyard. We were treated to a full tour of the estate the next day. This hotel was our favourite in Portugal.

A dream in heaven - this place can’t be described, unless you are there. The gardens, the planted vines, the entire complex, near the river, the road down the orchard, everything is carefully placed where it can enhance the charm of this small piece of heaven. The food is delicious and the entire staff so welcoming and helpful! Congrats for creating a warm experience to your guests. Definitely on our list of comeback places.
