Breakfast met expectations and the lady made fresh cake, orange juice and jams. View was excellent as we had a balcony that has an excellent view of the Duoro . Less than half block from the observatory.

In the whole town of Pinhão cash is king. Very few establishments, from restaurants to hotels accept credit cards. As there are only two MTA's in the town of Pinhão, which makes life more complicated than necessary.

A fantastic veiw over the Douro River and valley. There were a couple of good trails to Pinhão to explore, through wineyards with gravel roads.

The lady at check in was very friendly and helpful. The room itself was old world and very charming. The beds were a little dated, but the balcony and view made up for that. The bathroom was outside the room and although the hostess communicated that it was our private bathroom, other guests used it, which was fine, but keep in mind if that’s something that bothers you. Breakfast was very good.

Our room didn’t have a view which was disappointing!

Good value, good breakfast, 50 m walk from UNESCO viewpoint which was outstanding and 50m from D’Origem wine and olive tasting and museum also outstanding!

As with many rental homes it was cooler than we liked. Also, there are several steps to enter which may be a consideration for some.

Our hostess was wonderful, very friendly and engaging. The view was gorgeous and breakfast delicious.

    All good for one night.

A very friendly and hard-working team. Everything has something of a visit to the nice aunt. So you shouldn't expect a big city hotel, but rather rustic charm. The view is absolutely amazing and the staff and family are really lovely and endeavour to please. We spent a lovely night there with a delicious breakfast. There is another great viewpoint 100 metres from the location.

The road to get there was narrow, crooked and very high up the mountain. If you don't like heights best not to stay. (Google maps will take you the shortest way but crazy roads check it out before you go) Many stairs to carry luggage up... Just a heads up. Breakfast was OK .. nothing out of the norm for Portugal. There are no restaurants nearby and you don't want to drive those roads in the dark so dinner had to be in the afternoon. Rooms are not sound proof.

The room and house was very clean. It was a quiet location.

The long walk to find a place for dinner. We probably should have sorted that before we arrived (I think the host does provide pre-booked meals).

The mattress was too firm for us. I would stay on the main road as you get close to Casal do Loivros and do not take the shortcut route to the right, recommended by Google Maps. It was a harrowing drive, when the easier one was available.

Charming house in perfect condition with a roomy balcony that looked down the Douro River. Host was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was terrific in a beautiful dining room. We were a 5 minute walk to Quinta do Jalloto, which was owned and operated by a 5th generation couple. Very nice winery and also spectacular views.

Pity our room had no view. There is nowhere in the village for an evening meal. We took the offer of a home cooked meal. Disappointed. Restaurant price but poorly cooked .Speak was tough and almost inedible vegetables also overcooked. Host is missing the opportunity of providing a more simple menu easier to prepare with local veg/salad.

Please comfortable clean room in the centre of village. Family run with friendly host.7

Parking was a tricky proposition but was expected in such hilly terrain.

Reception was friendly. Breakfast was wonderful and filling. The view of the Douro River reflects the name of this B&B, "Bella Vista", despite being marred by ugly electrical/telecommunications wires.

There are spacious rooms with glorious views and balconies. Unfortunately the one we had was small with no view, so that was disappointing.

The location in a village above Pinhao was great with superb views down to the Douro. Our hostess was very helpful, made our stay very pleasant and provided a very nice breakfast.

You really need a car if you were staying here but it is not far to drive from Pinhao and quite easy to find. We drove Into Pinhao for dinner but other folk staying brought food and were able to use the establishments plates and glasses etc. and ate on the balcony and in the garden where there is a table and chairs.

We had a lovely view of the river Douro and the surrounding vineyards from our balcony which was shared with another room but after chatting for a while we respected each other’s privacy and both used the balcony quite happily. The room and ensuite were of a good size and the breakfast was good with homemade jams.

Parking can be an issue on very narrow street, but we dropped of our bags and parked up the road. Could be a problem for the aged or obese. I’m 75 and did ok.

Pretty view of valley from property.

Although when we booked we were aware that the accommodation is 2.5km from the train station, it is an incredibly steep climb and we should have paid the 22 Euro return for a taxi. Also there is only a small cafe serving drinks, ice cream and snacks but no restaurant in the village so if you are walking / using public transport, the location, although stunningly beautiful, is rather remote.

What an amazing view - surely one of the best in the whole of the Rio Douro. A very hospitable and comfortable stay with a good breakfast. Would definitely return.

We did not know our room would have the bathroom in the hallway, so it was not attached to the room. Also, there was only one common area for everyone staying, so we mostly stayed in our room when at the hotel.

View was great! And the breakfast and dinner were delicious.

Although I did walk up from Pinhao through the vineyards, it is quite some climb.

Stunning views of the surrounding area, it is a 12 Euro tax ride but well worth it. The walk down through the vines is very enjoyable. Friendly welcome and good attention to detail. Opted for the evening meal rather than go down to Pinhao. Just along the road is a village cafe serving food and drink throughout the day. Definitely a place to get away from the rush of daily life. Very helpful and friendly host with accommodation that is well looked after and has a feeling of real history.
