Great location, clean and spacious room. Helpful staff. The Cale guest house is only a couple of blocks from the river and in the center of great restaurants and shopping. Also only a few block down hill from the Sao Bento train station. We were greeted at the door with a glass of wine, over which we discussed the map and what to see in Porto. The staff makes the customer experience their top priority, and this makes the Cale Guest house a wonderful place to stay!

We were on the top floor (6) without an elevator so the many flights of stairs were difficult. Our host carried one of our luggage pieces when we arrived but it was still a lot of steps each day. I will remember to ask next time!

Host was super friendly and accommodating. Because we had to leave early one day, she made breakfast for us 30 minutes early. The hotel was very clean and comfortable.

The amenities (soap & shampoo) are not refilled automatically by the room service team, I need to ask for it myself by the receptionist during our stay. It would be great if it was refilled!

perfect location in Porto Old Town area. easily a walk away from the Sao Bento station. Many restaurants nearby. The hotel is very lovely and cozy, the hospitality is top notch. Really lovely breakfast. Definitely consider this for your perfect holiday stay in Porto!

Only thing was as an old listed building didn’t have a lift but we were on top floor.

Very close to the centre. Our room was very clean, large with a huge comfortable bed. Staff really friendly and helpful.

If you had mobility issues this is not the hotel for you. There is no lift so you need to climb the stairs. Our room was on the top floor so it was an effort. Getting luggage up and down is also an effort

The room we had was not what I had expected. From our booking, I thought we were getting the lower level room with French doors opening to an outside area. Instead, we got a room two stories (and flights of stairs) up with windows overlooking that outside area. It may have been because we had requested an early checkin but that was a disappointment.

Location was exceptional. Just off one of the main streets so it was quiet but very accessible to all that we wanted to do. Staff was very welcoming and the breakfast was very good.

Room 3 had key and lock issues, so having to try and remove the key every time took a long time.
