Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThe sinage on the door outside could be better. Even though there was a good description {Three Red Doors} the theater beyon had three red doors too! The actual sign was so tiny. It was my first stay in Europe so I guess I needed to get used to cluing into tiny signage
Fantastic breakfast homemade jam and cake. The staff were so helpful too. The location was central and we even found a bakery opposite - Bread in Portugal such a treat.

GeorgiaI recently stayed at beingportohostel in Porto and had an amazing experience! From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. They provided great recommendations for local attractions and dining options, which made my stay even more enjoyable. The hostel itself was clean, comfortable, and had a vibrant atmosphere. My room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the facilities were well-maintained. I particularly appreciated the common areas, which were perfect for relaxing and meeting fellow travelers. The kitchen was fully equipped, making it easy to prepare meals. One of the highlights of my stay was the hostel's excellent location. It was situated close to major landmarks, public transportation, and some fantastic restaurants and bars. This made exploring Porto incredibly convenient. The combination of friendly staff, clean and comfortable accommodations, and a prime location made my stay unforgettable. I highly recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Porto!

New ZealandKeys/lock were extremely annoying to use to open the doors, having a scan key would be way more efficient. More information could have been given around the private external bathroom as we were unsure if others were using it as it wasn’t directly next to our room. Found a couple of spiders in the beds
Perfect location- walking distance to everything. Rooms were tidy and beds comfy.

GermanyFor us, it was a little bit difficult to find/get into the hostel - there is no big sign on door No. 13 (all three doors of the same color belong together) and although the street number was correct, when ringing, no one was opening the door so we spent like 15 minutes walking around the block and looking for the right entrance. We considered the price for quite a simple and small room quite high, but accommodation in Porto, especially in the city center is expensive.
The best of this place was the excellent staff, very nice and always ready to help. The hostel is centrally located in the heart of the city, not far away from the cathedral and the lively Ribeira district, and within easy walking distance to any place in the historical center. Getting from/to the airport, we took the bus 601 or 602 to Cordoaria which takes approx. 1 hour, from there it is about 10 minutes walking to the hostel (Porto streets are very hilly and partially in very bad conditions). We had a double room with a private bathroom. The room was very clean but quite small and basic, but it looks like that in Porto all houses have small rooms as they are very narrow. The breakfast was good, especially the handmade porridge was delicious. We would stay here again and can recommend it to other travelers. For those starting the Camino in Porto: The hostels/hotels DO NOT sell the Credential de Peregrino, nor the official Tourist information. You can only buy it in the Catedral shop (was closed) or in the Albergue de Peregrinos on the Camino, a little bit outside of the city center (we did).

BelgiumI had a great experience staying at this hostel. I stayed there for four nights and I was lucky enough to have great roomies. The staff was also extremely kind and accommodating. Breakfast was also nice: eggs, porridge, coffee, cereals, bread, fruit, and cake. Great value for money! I would for sure come back to this hostel.

AustraliaThe stairs and taking my 25kg luggage up it, but that is normal for Porto houses and I would still stay in Porto Hostel.
Being Porto Hostel is excellent. The environment is very friendly, both the staff and the people that gravitate to this hostel. There are stairs which you'll have to take your luggage up, but that is fairly normal for Porto hostels. One of my favourite features of this hostel was that the toilet/bathroom was outside your room and only available to those in your room. That way it offers more privacy and it is spacious. It is a lovely old building and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here, I wouldn't want to look anywhere else to stay in Porto.
