Amazing house! Great location, just outside the walls. The house is so comfortable and smartly designed. Very comfortable beds! Beautiful outdoor space with an amazing view! Francisco is the most gracious, interesting, helpful and knowledgeable host we’ve ever met. We had a wonderful stay and hope we can come back soon.

Absolutely nothing.

A great experience from start to finish. A lovely family run recently refurbished house. They were only ten minutes away for our arrival and departure and could not have been more polite, kind and helpful. We can only recommend 100%.

Because this apartment was on a main street, you could hear the cars going by at night. It wasn't super disruptive, I only mention in case someone is a very light sleeper.

This apartment had everything we needed. It was decorated and outfitted so thoughtfully. The back window and garden had such a gorgeous view, I only wish we had better weather to enjoy it. The hosts were so kind and helpful. The location is great; you are close to everything, yet didn't have to navigate through crazy tiny streets. They accepted our dog for a small fee, and he was very happy to enjoy the view out of the window.

Beautifully renovated apartment with a stupendous view of the castle, particularly at night. Our host was really kind and generous. He left some fruit, bread and other goodies for us. The apartment is minutes away from the castle and nice restaurants. Parking availability is a plus. We highly recommend this place to any travelers staying in Óbidos.

Nothing. Everything was perfect.

The apartment is enlightening. You can see that every detail has been thought of so that the guest feels good. From a convenient location with an amazing view with the wall and the old city. Even though it's without breakfast, they made groceries available to us. Francisco took care of us and was interested if everything was okay. Just great.

Due to legal restrictions on remodeling historical buildings, this place might be a bit uncomfortable for taller people over 180 cm (5'-10").

This was the nicest place I stayed during my entire vacation. The property was amazing and the hosts were very gracious. I would absolutely stay again. The property had a queen size bed upstairs and a single child's bed downstairs. There were two full bathrooms up and down. There was a full kitchen, including dishes, pots and pans, silverware and a dishwasher. There was also a clothes washer. The property was stocked with dishwasher and laundry detergent. I could live in this place for months and be very happy. The location was a short walk from the old walled city and dozens of restaurants. Superb.

Nothing bad to say, the stay was perfect.

The house was absolutely beautiful, very modern and extremely clean. We were met by the host who was very helpful and responsive. The hosts left us some lovely food and recommended a great local restaurant owned by a family member. The garden terrace is gorgeous and has views over the castle and vineyards. I would highly recommend you stay here when visiting Obidos.

Francisco and his family could not have been more gracious and welcoming hosts! They managed to accommodate us ninety minutes before our scheduled check-in, giving us plenty of time to explore the beautiful town of Óbidos. Francisco’s son (also named Francisco) met us at the apartment to hand over the keys and give us a quick tutorial on operating the AC/appliances, securing windows and doors, etc. He also walked us through the town’s history, offered insider tips on must-see attractions, and provided complimentary maps of the region. At a leisurely 5-minute walk from the castle walls, the apartment’s location was superb. The neighborhood was quiet and safe with easy access to nearby shops and restaurants. There was also overnight parking immediately in front of the building - and it was free which was a huge bonus :) The rooms were clean and thoughtfully appointed with plenty of space for three guests. The bathrooms were modern and well-equipped and, while we didn’t prepare any meals, the small kitchen appeared to be similarly well-stocked. Francisco also supplied complimentary dishwasher and laundry detergent and a clothing rack for drying. The backyard patio (see photo) was outfitted with a small shaded dining area, two lounge chairs and an oversized swing with an impressive view of Óbidos and the surrounding fields and vineyards. This was a great spot to relax with a drink, especially at night when the castle walls were lit up. Francisco was also kind enough to provide complimentary snacks and breakfast basics for the next day. He also provided a voucher for a 10% discount at a nearby restaurant where he works. As luck would have it, he waited on us personally and made us feel like honoured guests throughout our very enjoyable meal. All said, this was a terrific visit to Óbidos and we’re sorry we couldn’t stay longer!

Everything! The place exceeded all our expectations! Francisco gave us lots of useful information and made sure we felt right at home. Would not stay anywhere else in Obidos.

Not much. It is a bit close to the main road that goes up into the walled city, but there's very little traffic so we had no issues with it.

Great apartment with a view of the old walled city. The host and his son were unbelievably welcoming and informative about the apartment, the city and the area. My husband and I each had motorcycles and this was our first stop in Portugal. Turns out the owner is also a fellow rider and provided us with so many great places and details for the rest of our journey. I think we went to almost all of them! Space was clean and well organized, wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommend a stay here.

If there could be any complaint it is the fact that there was some traffic noise. But Obidos’ proximity to the motorway makes this impossible to avoid.

Everything. If you ever go to Obidos, you don’t have to look any further. Reception by host (and departure) as good as we have ever experienced. Facilities of high standard, special effort made to make sure even instructions on how to use the coffee machine were available. This was really a special experience with amazing views!
