To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

I loved the location. It was far enough away to feel like a neighborhood, but close enough to walk everywhere. The room was very large and well appointed. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom and kitchen were filled with anything you need and all worked well. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Very clean and comfortable accommodation in a historical Venetian building. Good location near to Rialto Bridge and market. The room had a balcony overlooking the canal and there was a kettle and coffee maker. The host, Nicola, was very welcoming and helpful and he allowed me to leave my luggage at the end of my stay.

AustraliaBathroom was passable but I think its a problem for old houses in Venice. Bathing area not tall enough for average height people, watch your head. Also room wasn't ready during check-in.
Location was great & convenient(without luggage). Loved the place and the aesthetics, except the bathroom. Host was great, friendly and helpful. House was clean.

United States of AmericaWe liked that we could open the doors to the balcony for fresh air, but the noise from the courtyard was crazy when people came and went. The door buzzer was loud, clanging suitcases up and down the stairs, and conversations could be heard easily through the walls. We learned later that tourists like us drive up rents for these apartments and that's why no one lives in Venice anymore :( I wish now we had avoided contributing to that problem.
The building had surprisingly cool furnishings and the apartment was very spacious. Bathroom finishes were clean and modern, room was spotless. Location was excellent, easy to walk anywhere. Shower had a skylight.

Fabulous location in a historic building with amazing antique furnishings, a quick walk to all the sights of Venice-esp cool to be so close to the Rialto market to drop by first thing in the morning before the crowds. Lots of space for our family and a well-stocked kitchen. Friendly, communicative host with a great restaurant recommendation too.

UkraineIt was a bit chilly, but I suppose it's a regular thing when you are living just above the canal.
Very atmospheric place in the mere center of Venice. High ceilings, fantastic windows, and we've had a small balcony - perfect for a nice breakfast as the start of a great day, even at the beginning of February. The bathroom is outside of the room like it is stated, but it's private indeed, very clean, nice and spacious. Be aware that there's hot water, but it take some time for it to come.

ItalyAppartamento meraviglioso, lo consiglio vivamente! + La comunicazione con il proprietario era eccellente, ha aiutato a trovare un buon posto per parcheggiare la macchina. La stanza era molto più bella che nelle foto. Belli gli arredi antichi ed il balcone sul canale è davvero particolare. Il letto era morbido, comodo e piacevole. Ognuno di noi aveva delle belle pantofole e un accappatoio. Se ne avessi la possibilità, valuterei questo appartamento con 11 invece di 10 stelle :).
