Steep stairs up to room which we managed but again could prove difficult for some to climb and not aware of this until we arrived. There was no lift.

Room was very clean and comfortable. Bathroom included a bath. Shower over bath which was fine for us but could be difficult for some. Staff were friendly. We didn't eat breakfast there so can't comment. Reasonably located to some good restaurants and central to train station in one direction and St Marks square in the other.

There are a lot of items that should be improved, to align the quality and the price paid. It looked like no guests were expected, some rolled carpets on a hallway shelf, some boxes on top of the cabinet, vaccum cleaner next to the room door. In addition to this, the sink tap was not working properly, closing by itself unless was kept on a max position, which made it impossible to use it without splashing water all over the bathroom. The one in the shower cabin made the hair wash a real torture, as it had such a low pressure, you needed at least one hour to wash a mid lenght hair. For a 330 eur per night the expectations were quite high, at least for the reasonable items, such as an increased overall quality in used products and serrvices.

The position of the hotel, right jn the heart of Venice and the potential the building has it to be an amazing accomodation. Nice and helpful personnel.

There was nothing to dislike about this hotel. There was some building work happening during my stay which was slightly disruptive but it didn’t spoil my experience here.

Hotel Pausania was very charming and typically Venetian. The location was perfect and the hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming. I have been to Venice many times staying in various types of accommodation but wouldn’t hesitate to book this hotel again.

    Nothing!

Lovely hotel in a great location. We were only staying one night but the receptionist kindly organised a canal view which was beautiful. Our room was clean and spacious with a comfortable bed and is decorated in the Venetian style which my daughter loved. The hotel is only a few minutes walk from Campo Santa Margherita and within walking distance of Academia and Piazza San Marco. It is also only five minutes walk to a Grand Canal Vaporetto stop. Would happily stay here again!

    Nope. Liked it all.

Very helpful hosts, good breakfast, soft beds. Right on a canal, so it lived up to its "canal romance" we were only there 3 days, so we didn't have a feel for what was around us.

Bathroom not helpful to older people. No shower mat. Tricky, the more so because of the oddly designed shower.

A lovely quiet part of Venice, with lovely walks, but the busier Accademia district not far away, and the pleasant and friendly Campo San Barnaba close at hand..

Although they had a porter service, we didn’t factor the very steep steps up to our room. And as I have a back issue I struggled. This shouldn’t put you off though as I guess had we known and asked for a lower ground floor room they probably would have obliged.

Location, styling, calm and peaceful away from crowds yet in the heart of Venice.

The single rooms are small but they are quiet and the beds are comfortable.

The staff were all lovely as was the hotel itself - in a delightful quiet location beside a canal yet within easy walking distance of the bus station and the main attractions. I wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else in Venice.

The bathrooms are a little on the small side and would be better without the mini bath/shower combo and just have a walk in shower.

It was like a home from home with a real sense of family amongst the staff. The position is great and not far from the Da Vinci and Academia museums. Some great little restaurants away from the main tourists areas also.

Be prepared to walk stairs, not a big deal, but consider this when you decide on the size of luggage you want to bring with you.

The location is perfect for exploring the city.. 5 Min walk to famous Vaporetto Line 1 or 10 Min to Accademia for San Marco, Rialto, Cannaregio,or the Line 2 covering Guidecca,.. Great Osteria next door, Jazz Club opposite ( no worries no noise ). Short stroll to Restaurants and other Bars.
