One day there were no hot water in the shower, "breakfast" is not the breakfast, it is more like snack.

I had a very pleasant night there. The owner was very kind and let me in after midnight, because my plane got delayed. The accommodations are cozy and clean. When you leave the house you are in the middle of Catania’s vibrant street life.

Some basic equipment was missing but the owner brought these on request. Once there was a lack of warm water. Owner speaks only Italian.

Good location to access the centre on foot. Very simple but cosy atmosphere, you can feel like a local. Owner was around on WhatsApp to answer requests.

No breakfast! No tea! No coffee! No air con! No proper towels! Quite loud in the night! Long life croissant aren't ok for people with health issues specially diabetes!!

I arrived and called the owner, no answer Then after 20 mins or so, owner's son popped with his mate and was surprised to see me. I had to explain that I have a reservation He had to call his father to understand what's happening . Then when I got to my room which was clean and cosy. No bath towels, had to use hand towels for shower. No breakfast system in place, long life croissant were the only option, no coffee, no tea.. Thin walls so you actually can hear everything. Air conditioner wasn't working No Catania maps or any information available. Over all I am quite disappointed, I have traveled to more than 56 cities and never had such welcome. They should not call themselves B&B as there is absolutely no breakfast available.

No wifi, the WC stinks (you can see the filter never was cleaned... The pillow was terrible, I had to pay for tourist tax (no sense, city is to dirty to ask for that money...)

The old man was nice, but doesn't speak english, so communication was not easy . Location is not bad but price is elevated for the house conditions (no sound isolation, I could heard people conversations in other rooms.

Zero noise insulation from other guests. One lady was up all night, entering and leaving (via the noisy metal door to courtyard) and speaking to someone. You can hear people speak at normal volumes as if they were in your room. What other guest shave said about breakfast is true - it is just a few pastries in plastic wrapping. Everything else about the B&B is reflective of the price.

No kitchen utensils – even no plainest knife Double room has an inner window up under the ceiling and when at night someone turns on the corridor lights your room gets unwanted illumination.

All the reviews might be true, but during my stay all way okay. Sheets and room – clean Air conditioning on heat – working (wasn't chilly at night) Hot water in shower. My check-in was a bit stressful due to misunderstanding, but, otherwise, I can't come up with something bad about the place. It's my first time booking a stay with 5.9 rate so was expecting much worse. Look, it's priced as a hostel bed. Yes, the hostels can be very cool and comfy and everything else, but if you are expecting to have a private room with a window in the city center for same price be prepared that there won't be any luxuries. Plus, I had less than two month for booking so there weren't much options left. Used to live in "top of Catania" single room with private bathroom and, oh, God, it was so tiny and poor. Yes, in the high season when there's full house of tenants kitchen could get messy and other guests might be noisy, but in February it was quite nice.

This place is an absolute dirty hole that is not worth its money. Living room and kitchen smells cigarettes. The whole building and everything inside is cheap and old including the bed sheets, pillows etc. It was impossible to take a shower because of the accumulated dirt that didn’t let water flush and u were standing in all that crap waiting for it to go down. After sleepless night I got an eye infection from the conditioning with old filters and we were forced to leave even though we payed for one more night. The owner doesn’t give a shhht about his property or guests. When we notified him about our experience he answered : “okay, have a good day.” The location is also not as great as it sounds, it’s in the historic center but the street if full of rubbish that is the first thing you see when you go out. Personal advice - don’t try to economise in Italy. You’ll end up wasting even more. It’s better to pay 20€ more and get nice room with a view and everything inside than spoil your trip and money for nothing.

No wifi and it’s not a B&B - false advertising, it’s the same as booking any other hostel-hotel where you can make yourself coffee in the kitchen in the morning, we’re just given a small basket of brioches in our room for the whole stay which is the ‘complimentary breakfast’. The walls are extremely thin so every morning we were woken up by yelling from the other guests and the owner chasing the guests on their city tax. There’s also a window into the corridor from our room so the bright lights shone through in the mornings which also woke us up. On top of this, the rooms are painted dark hues of yellow and brown with little natural light so it’s depressing to stay in them for a while so we made use of doing anything in the city before we had to sleep again. There were also creepy men as other guests as soon as we arrived which made us feel wary the whole time about going into our room. And the shared bathroom with the other guests was not clean at all with hair clogged in the shower and in the floor when we first went in.

The owner tries to be extra hospitable with taking us out to a local cafe on arrival - though meant we couldn’t rest for a second or unpack, but possibly to make up for the hotel. It’s a walkable location from main things in Catania / piazza del duomo.
