To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

ItalyI didn’t realise the room was not on suite. there is a curtain to give privacy as you leave your room to go to the bathroom which was mine exclusively. the loo when you flush would wake the street so I felt bad about flushing in the night. I would stay here again even with the strange bathroom set up but I’d have liked to know this in advance. just a heads up this is a house that is smoking so if you are offended by cigarette smoke this is not the place for you.
this is a property that is run by a lovely lady. located in the heart of Realmonte with street side parking it ticked all those boxes. the bed was comfortable and the room clean. great value for money! a couple of really great restaurants walking distance and a short drive to the beach.

GermanyWe were alone in the house so it was no problem at all for us - but even though the kitchen and bathroom were for private use, they are only reachable through a public corridor. The fridge is really small especially if you want to cook on a regular basis.
Very nice and easy-going hostess, the apartment is very well situated to visit the Scala dei Turchi and the main attractions in the Agrigento area. we were happy to find a fully equipped kitchen :)

United KingdomWe spent one night only in July and we were given a room on the top floor: it was too hot. There are two fans provided in the room, but in my opinion it’s not enough. We had to keep the window open and because the room is located in a busy area in the middle of town it was very noisy all night. Air conditioning would solve this issue and would have made our stay definitely more comfortable. Although there is a nice balcony there are no chairs to sit.

GermanyWi-Fi is not working, as it is not covering the space. At the reception you could see an ashtray with consumed cigarettes but during the evening and night, the stink of the cigarette reached out rooms up the second and third floor. On the top room, it is hard to walk in half of it because it’s a under roof,there is s small kitchen with mugs but no pans or water boiler. The small windows on the roof could not to be open to change the air.
Friendly staff. Located close to some local restaurants.
