Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomAlthough the rooms were clean and functional the decor could be enhanced to make the accommodation so much more. That said the cost would increase as well.
The location was fabulous. A 15-minute walk from the station and just by the Temple of Athena. The breakfast was adequate although no hot food was available. The bed and the air conditioning was great.

United States of AmericaIt took me a bit more time to figure out how to do the self check-in. Luckily Sonia was helpful through text messaging. No complaints.
The B&B is in a great location. Rooms are somewhat old style but large and well equipped. Everything is super close!

ItalyAll good.
The building and 3 bed room are beautiful with decorated high ceilings and a huge big front door" portone". The room and bathroom were very clean . The music menrioned in other reviews only went on unrill about 23.00 so no problem there. You can see the sea from various views from the room. Very pretty. The breakfast was good if a bit small. Same with the bathroom

FranceNo one there to welcome us. Access to the room was via a mechanical dial number lock which I couldn't read (my eyes are good in normal circumstances).
Very large room exquisitely decorated in traditional style.

Madame was very kind and helpful. Room was nice and location in the center was perfect. Self check-in was a little funny and adventure, but nothing terrible, the instruction were quite clear.

Czech RepublicIn the bathroom there was a smell of a smoke. I felt it in whole appartment the first day, so I had to keep the bathroom doors shut.
Very spacious appartment, close to everything. I travelled in Feb, so it was a bit cold inside, but aircon did the job well. Breakfast was a good plus. There are no cups, but there is a kettle, which is funny. Overall, I liked the place so much. Felt good and safe and I totally recommend!

BulgariaA small hotel consisting of 5 private rooms and a separate breakfast room in the heart of Ortigia. The room was large and equipped with everything we needed. The building is old and the front door is difficult to close. The Serbian woman who took care of the rooms and breakfast was so polite and helpful. Sonia allowed us to leave our luggage as early as 10 am and we were settled in our room at 1 pm. The location is perfect for exploring Ortigia and close to almost all restaurants and bars. I recommend using the parking lot near the grand hotel, the price of which is 15 euros for 24 hours and is 3 minutes away.

United KingdomThis is not a complaint but it is worth noting on. This depends on what you are looking/hoping for on your trip to this beautiful location. There is a lively bar close to the accommodation. If your trip is for lively nights out with live music /bands playing outside (until around 2am) then this is a great spot. If however, you are looking for a quieter location then you might find the late night/early morning music a little loud.
A beautiful house with lovely views from the balconies. Care and attention given to the building and a very warm welcome from the host. Breakfast was good and a nice ambience in the building.

The accommodation was in the old town so very close to everything, however it was quite noisy at night. The room was very spacious and clean. The host was very helpful and organised a taxi for us o Pozzallo.

United KingdomThe room wasn't spotless and because we had a toddler you can always notice where dirt is trapped in corners etc as they always manage to find it. The travel cot that was provided was very old and used and smelt funny. Also the living space was very small and not really usable
