Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaIt was a pretty convoluted path to our room. The place has character so that was a small price to pay.
The location is in the heart of the city but the room was quiet!

NorwayMost of check-in procedures happens manually with the books, so upon arrival I had to wait 20 minutes for my turn which itself took 15 minutes even if I checked-in online beforehand to speed the process. Very unfriendly posters on wall explaining rules, for example "we dont carry your suitcase, its 3 star hotel", "we can order you taxi, but we are not travel agency". I get the point, but it could be written in more polite way. Aircondition worked poorly during intense heat days. Very unpleasant smell in hotel and rooms. Smells old and soggy. Towels were suppoused to be changed every 2 nights, noone showed up during our 3 nights stay. Power outage in the breakfast area every morning. Probably related to old equipment.
Best location. Very friendly staff at reception. Mini bar available. Fair breakfast. Quite cold mini fridge.

United States of AmericaBreakfast and coffee. Breakfast was slightly rough in terms of freshness of breakfast options and breakfast options themselves. Coffee machine was not working properly. If I knew ahead of time I would book the room without breakfast. There are a lot of nearby breakfast options that are not too expensive and serve good breakfast. The hotel room was great but an only thing missing in the room was a small coffee machine which could have been convenient for someone like us who must drink coffee as the start of the day.
Location, location, location! The hotel was in the old part of town. It was a block away from Duomo Cathedral (Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore) and 5 min away from Uffizi Galleries! Room was spacious and clean. Bed was comfortable. Room was cleaned everyday without asking.

SingaporeWe recently stayed at Hotel Maxim Axial and had a lovely time. While the hotel showed a bit of wear and tear, its fantastic location made up for it, allowing us to easily explore. The staff were wonderful, always friendly and helpful, We would recommend this hotel for its excellent service and prime location.

AustraliaJust a personal preference for a shower that is enclosed - their shower is very large and nice but because of who I am as a person, water went everywhere out of the shower. Also, the elevator is quite small and just fit two people with luggage, but is definitely functional and I’m so glad it was there. Overall, no real problems at all. It’s a great place to stay.
Amazing location in Firenze. The staff were pleasant and the room was large and comfortable. Some great breakfast options as well - very handy having breakfast at the hotel. That’s one meal you don’t have to worry about for the day! We would definitely stay here again.

United States of AmericaOur room was on the street side, so having the window open meant that it was quite noisy. But with the window closed, you couldn't hear anything. Our AC unit had a water leak, but the staff took care of it promptly.
The location was great, near everything in the historic center. Breakfast was included and had a lot of options to eat including espresso machines. The bed was comfortable, and the room and bathroom were spacious for historic buildings.

GreeceUnfortunately, there was a bathroom issue in our room, and we had to stay in a smaller room with an old bathroom for the first day. Nevertheless, they treated us with a free cocktail in a tarazza with great view!
Great location. Kind and helpful staff. Clean room with clean and nice linens. The renovated bathroom in our second room was spacious and amazing. Good, basic breakfast, plus they had pancakes. I would give a 9 if we had our room from the 1st day 😉
