Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe room was very basic, more basic than others we had stayed in during our travels around the Sporades Islands, however this was the most expensive accommodation of them all. The room was only cleaned once in our 5 night stay, it would have been nice to have at least had the floors swept and mopped more. The bins were emptied daily though. This isn't a bad review, because the hotel and staff were amazing - we just felt it was expensive for us to compare it to other places we had stayed.
The owners were lovely, really friendly and helpful. The owners really make the hotel and give it a real family feel by getting to know the family and being very welcoming. The pool and bar were great, really enjoyed spending some time by the pool. The food here is also good, would recommend breakfast. We had our own private terrace with bean bags and table/chairs which was great. Very authentic accommodation. Thank you for a lovely stay!

HungaryThe owner and staff were very kind, the room was well equiped and clean, it was cleaned daily. We had parking space too. The bus stop and the supermarket were close. The beautiful and sandy Agia Paraskevi beach was just 200m away from us. We were also satisfied with Villa Maraki's swimming pool.

United KingdomRoom didn't exactly match my booking, but nice all the same. Suspect more of a miscommunication between site and hosts than anything deliberate or disorganised. A lamp in the living room would be nice to create softer lighting in contrast to the bright spotlights. Shower screen would be better than curtain - the extractor fan makes the curtain stick to you.
Our first time in any part of Greece. Villa Maraki exactly as pictured, with the gorgeous pool by the bar. Our rooms were adequate and comfortable, nice decor, air con, and with all necessities, and we had a great view from our balcony. Housekeeper made our beds/emptied bins/changed towels every day. Only 'complaint' is that floors were in need of a really good vacuum to get rid of all the bits often left behind after mopping/sweeping tiled floors. If you suffer from mosquito attacks, you'll need to be prepared with repellent/lotion here. Hosts Elona & Nikos very friendly, welcoming, and helpful - also Elona prepares lovely, fresh food at the pool bar, and watch out for the cheeky side of Nikos 😉😁 Brilliant beach literally across the road (beds & parasols if you want them, lifeguards, and great snorkelling). Regular buses on the road outside in each direction to Skiathos Town and Koukounaries (good value at €2 per ticket). Lots of good restaurants in easy walking distance. Would stay here again.

United KingdomOn a busy road / steep steps (which was fine for us) but no good if you had mobility issues. Were asked to check out an hour earlier than advertised.
We only stayed one night. We were made very welcome and given towels to use round pool and a shower to use as were not flying until night. Beach was just across the road, near to supermarket and tavernas.

United KingdomI’d say the beds weren’t very comfortable. And as I had a friend with me, having her use the sofa bed didn’t feel fair as it was quite small. But we moved after a few days to another part of the island.
I absolutely loved the hosts as they were super friendly and lovely! And it’s so handy because it’s opposite my favourite beach on the island. It’s not so touristy there so it’s quiet and chilled. There are also many restaurants nearby to try and a bid that picks you up and takes you straight into town.

Maria and Nikos are excellent hosts always there to help, guide us and even have a casual chat. The propery was clear and as described on the site. There was a tavern, bakery and mini-market just a few steps away. A very clean, surveyed beach with beach bars is available 3 minutes on foot
