Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
Politically sensitive comments
Promotional content
Illegal activities
Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
Spam and fake content
Animal cruelty
Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Giorgio is the perfect host.
We arrived at the villa very late at night and he was waiting to welcome us with a local Greek meal.
The villa is equipped with all necessary kitchen utensils, basic ingredients such as salt, oil, coffee, tea, sugar, mineral water, beers, spices and more.
Every morning Giorgio was interested in our daily plan and depending on the area we chose to travel he added more recommendations. His recommendations are great.
We stayed in the villa for 8 nights, the villa is large and very well maintained with a pool and wonderful natural areas.
On the morning of the trip back home, Giorgio came to say goodbye to us and we even received farewell gifts.
Thank you Giorgio, you are a friend for life.

An excellent host who always responded quickly. Absolutely no problems with this fantastic house which is set in a very peaceful location. It has everything you need, big double bedrooms, very comfortable beds and good facilities indoors and out if you want to cook for yourselves. Large cool communal spaces with lots of seating and chilling areas in the large garden, and stunning views from the rooftop.

I can't really think of anything we wouldn't enjoy there.
The place is absolutely amazing, located in secluded place in a small village upon a hill. We had a complete privacy there. The villa is very well equiped and we have found everything we needed. The owner is very friendly guy who went the distance to make our stay really enjoyable. We can only recommend the place!

Gravel around the pool
Cretan Castello a substantial property located in a rural location, yet close to a large village (supermarkets, restaurants, pharmacy, garage etc) and main transit routes. The property is built on a grand scale, so the three bedrooms (two doubles and a smaller twin), are large and airy, with the much-needed benefit of air conditioning. The ground floor is given over to a huge open-plan kitchen / living / dining space, with a separate shower room on the same floor. There is an open staircase to the first floor. The property is perfect for social gatherings, as there are various spots in the generous grounds and around the pool where you can sit, dine, or recline, as well as a sun-baked terrace on the top floor, which provides phenomenal views over the mountains and as far as the coast. There is a comfortable dining gazebo and built-in BBQ, next to the kitchen garden. Cretan Castello is totally private and is not overlooked by any other properties. The kitchen is well equipped with a gas hob, electric fan oven, microwave, dishwasher and fridge, plus a separate fridge for drinks. There is a washing machine and iron, plus a hairdryer. Special mention must be made of the space-age, enclosed shower / jacuzzi n the bathroom - seeing is believing! The hosts could not have been more helpful and gave us excellent tips, advice and assistance, so that we got the maximum out of our time in the region and had a fantastic time.
