Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

FranceI would suggest not to leave any valuables in the room even when you go down for breakfast, my cash was stolen from my backpack that was left in the room.

NetherlandsThe only thing was that the shower was quite cold, but this wasn’t a big deal to me because a cold shower after a hike in the sun is nice anyway :).
Absolutely loved this hostel! The place is gorgeous, it’s at a good walking distance from Fira town and the bus stop to all the other towns on the island. The staff is super lovely and welcoming and there are plenty of activities to book through them or to join with other hostel guests, like dinners and movie nights. The breakfast which is included is very good as well and you can pick whatever you want each morning. The dogs are so sweet as well. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and I’m sure I will be back in the future!

United KingdomGreat Hostel just outside Fira (walkable). Laid back with a great pool and friendly staff. Perfect location for those wanting to see a bit more of the local Santorini scene rather than the expensive over-developed tourist areas. The three dogs are super friendly too !!

United KingdomThe pool turned our swimming things yellow... And if you are quite pregnant (as I am) the steep hill into the property is challenging.
This is a beautiful place to stay, the pool is fab, the rooms are so well decorated, the attention to detail is spot on and the breakfast was great.

AustraliaWould have liked some more group activities as a solo traveller, that’s why I booked a hostel. Breakfast wasn’t served til 8.30 (they were never on time) and you still had to wait til they served each person individually. If you have a 9am tour or transfer pick up you’ll be rushing to eat or just skip breakfast. Portions were small & same thing every day. Worth skipping.
I booked a private room which was a decent size, had a fridge and a basic electric stove. Good air conditioning. Would definitely suit 2 people.

United KingdomEverything was perfect, nothing to complain about.
Everything about this place was excellent. it has many open spaces and places to set outside and around the lobby, the rooms are big, fully equipped, has everything you need. AC works perfectly well, internet always available and fast. Breakfast was good enough, freshly prepared every morning with things you choose, you can take your tray and sit anywhere to have your breakfast. The swimming pool is very well kept, clean, tidy and not crowded. Plenty of parking available on site. the staff and owners are amazing and very helpful

United KingdomThe room gets cold so needed to layer up when sleeping and it was a long walk from the main road with some hilly road. Definitely need to get breakfast before leaving.
Had a wonderful stay. I loved the breakfast they served, very simple but helped my friend and I to get through the day. We were greeted with 2 lovely dogs on arrival. Easy check-in and we could leave our belonging before check in and after check out. Staff were really nice.

United States of AmericaThe hotel/hostel's location was the only challenge. It is situated around a 30 minute walk from Fira, and there is no option to take a bus (although there are buses Fira once you walk into town). Not only is it far from a town, it is still situated in a tourist-y area with lots of hotels around. All that said, I think I personally found Santorini a bit over-touristed, which is not the fault of the hotel!
The room was so cute. It worked well for the three of us, and we were very grateful for the free wine and olive dip left in the room for us. The staff was very helpful and gave us instructions for self check-in since we were arriving later in the evening. They were also very helpful in terms of navigating the island and finding activities. All of their directions were very helpful and correct. There are also two dogs on the property, both of which were so sweet and lovely! The free breakfast in the morning was one of the highlights as well. They customize the breakfast according to your preferences, it is all made fresh, and it's a great opportunity to meet other travelers and discuss plans and tips. I highly recommend this hotel, and don't skip breakfast!

United States of Americathe one thing I didn’t like was a window in my room. It was a small window close to the ceiling. East facing with no shutters. every morning the dark room would have a beam of light come into it through the window at sunrise.
everything about this place was so nice. You get the feeling of being in Santorini without ever leaving. The breakfast was incredible. normally free breakfasts are 1 item or a self serve. this place they served you 4 things on a tray. The bus stop to Fira is not too far away so while you’re not right where the action is you have a cheap close way to get there.

United KingdomIt was a little out of the way, Location wise, but we were prepared for this and factored it in to our days.
The room was lovely (we stayed in a private twin) it was really big, with a separate kitchen and seating area. There was also an outside seating area which was great. The breakfast was simple but nice. All the staff were lovely and helped us get a taxi to the airport.

NetherlandsLocation is not optimal without any transportation. We stayed inks a few days in the island and finding out way around with public transport was not always the easiest.
Staff was amazing! Always available, took the time for every question, and assisted when necessary. The cave was cute, but more as a novelty then functional.

We spent a total of 19 days in Greece. At the end of our holiday we were looking for a place to relax and Caveland was perfect. There is a big swimming pool and a really nicee garden. The hostel is located in a quiet area, but still close to Fira. We loved the vibe at the hostel and the activities that are organised. We went to a local tavern to have diner with a big group of people staying at the hostel and afterwards We went out for drinks in Fira. Caveland is a good place to meet other travelers and socialize. Besides this, the staff was really nice and helpfull. I would really reccomend caveland!
