Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWe had such a lovely stay here! Comfortable and well-equipped apartment right on the water with an amazing view! Great location away from busy Oia but still walkable up the stairs.

AustraliaPROPERTY: The property itself was gorgeous, well decorated and extremely clean! VIEWS: Ocean and sunset view were to die for! Most sunset spots in Santorini are packed with tourists but we were able to sit in our room and watch the sun go down. It was truly incredible. BEACH: There’s a swimming spot just around the corner from the house (walk to the last restaurant on the left hand side and walk through all the rocks). It’s a bit harder to get to for most people staying in Oia so it was relatively quiet and most mornings we were the only people there! The water is so clear and beautiful, just make sure you take your swimming shoes as it’s very rocky. LOCATION: Ammoudi Bay is beautiful and secluded in comparison to Oia and Fira. To get to Ammoudi, you’ll need to either walk, take a taxi or transfer from Oia (can also take the taxi or transfer from Fira but it will be more expensive). Walking - although its disclosed as 278 stairs, it’s actually the distance of around 1000 stairs and rather steep. It’s definitely do-able if you have no luggage but expect it to take around 15 minutes. The stairs themselves are uneven and slippery in parts, not to mention the rather pervasive donkey excrement. WARNING: DO NOT take this route if you have luggage. We are young and fit and were told we could walk it with luggage and it was the biggest mistake (there’s no getting off the path once you’re on it). Taxi / transfer - If you prefer driving, your host or a restaurant will need to organise a taxi or transfer on your behalf (you cannot book it yourself). The transfer from Ammoudi to Oia is 15 euro (not even a 5 minute drive) and our host organised it in a timely manner always! In summary, our opinion of the best way to get to the house in a cost and time effective way with luggage is getting the bus from the port to Oia and getting a transfer from Oia to Ammoudi. From a location accessibility standpoint, I would rate the property a 5.

United KingdomThe only minor problem was the authentic Greek stairs! At night, to get to the toilet it was a tiny bit dangerous down the steep stairs. That was the only thing.
Facilities, Cleanliness, kitchen equipment, style, larger than expected with balcony, views were incredible! we really enjoyed our time here and would 100% come back.

United KingdomNothing at all!
Everything was perfect. Peaceful location a couple of steps from the sea and lovely restaurants, away from crowds but easy to get to Oia if you don’t mind the steps. Beautiful little house!

AustraliaThis property was located beneath Oia at the bottom of some 300 steep stairs. Climbing up and down is 15-20 mins of hard work each way. Not for those that are not fit.
Clean and charming. Lovely views for sunset over ocean.

CanadaIt was not super clear that this location is far off the beaten trail. In fact, you can take a donkey all the way up the mountainside to get to Santorini village. We were happy we booked this at the end of our stay because walking up and down the hill (at least 15 minutes per way) every day was really not a feasible option. That or take a 15 euro uber to get to the town. So we felt a bit isolated. Also, there are only 3 restaurants at the bottom of the hill near the accomdations, so bring snacks!! Or buy some groceries!
The accomodations were beautiful and so were the views. Such a quaint spot! It's a really unique apartment.
