To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United KingdomThis hotel needs some tlc for instance there was wallpaper off the wall in my room; the window did not close; the bar is grotty; there is no bedside light and one socket by the bed did not work; 3 lights in the room did not work; the floor was dirty and walking around in bare feet you could feel things on the floor that had not been cleaned up; the tiles in the bathroom were broken and loose; hairs on the bathroom floor
Booked because it was the only hotel I could find and would do so again in those circumstances; otherwise I would go elsewhere. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Great location for Headingley

United KingdomThe hotel in generally felt a bit tired. Repairs looked a bit "quick-fix" but at least they're aware and working on things. I changed rooms (without any hassle) as, in the 1st one, the light fitting at the head of the bed was dangling off the wall.
Really friendly and welcoming lady (I think someone said Miranda?), always cheerful and made a great cooked breakfast in the morning (£7 extra when added at check-in). Ideal location for an event at Headingley Stadium (2 mins walk round the corner) Obviously it's a low-budget option but the room was still supplied a decent stock of hot drink paraphernalia and a working TV. Most importantly, the bed, even just as a single, was very comfy.

Lovely helpful staff very welcoming and helped us with information about local area, and getting around. The on-site parking was great, and the bus stop into the city just across the road. The breakfast was fabulous too. The bedding and towels were clean and very white, and the room was very clean. The location was great for the social club we went to.

United KingdomWhen i had booked 4 months ago i had messaged and asked if it would be possible to check in at 12 as we were attending a show and was told this would be OK, when we got there, we were questioned about this and made to feel uncomfortable as if we had lied, I offered to show the messages to confirm the request on booking.com The early check in was allowed but felt like we shouldn't be there!

Very satisfied with our stay. Room was clean and adequate with an en-suite. Lovely landlady who was very helpful in every way. The breakfast was also lovely and plentiful. Parking is also very convenient at the front or the back. The room was really good value. Very close to the city with buses just outside the hotel.
