We were unlucky in that there was a private party which went on till gone midnight, so our room on the 1st floor was very noisy. The room was very dated, the TV didn't work, the shower was outdated, in fact the whole bathroom was. Tea and coffee facilities were present and in good supply for a change. We had to pay £10 for an overnight parking space. But there is a car park 5 minutes walk away if preferred for £5 overnight.

Breakfast was excellent. The location is excellent, being close to the town and the beech. This is a reasonably nice hotel, but very old and outdated throughout. The staff are friendly and helpful.

The 10.30am checkout but I suppose that's becoming pretty much standard now. Can't think of anything else we didn't like.

Very friendly and helpful staff in all areas of the hotel. Brilliant location, central to just about everything. Large reasonably priced bar with plenty of outdoor seating. Plenty of closet space / drawers and very large screen TV. The fast free WiFi in the room was great. Tasty breakfast. The list goes on...

Balcony not clean, cigarette ends in the gulley, bed was a little uncomfortable but ok for one night, the biggest disappointment was the shower was broken as it came off the wall mid shower, we were initially asked how we broke it! It had been bodged previously with silicon around the wall mount bracket, the cleaner then advised that they were aware of it as it had happened before!

They only had caffeinated hot drink sachets in the room. The compact sink was very small, so had to fill a cup to pour into the kettle. The car park is very small and limited.

The room was minimal, but enough. Nice old fashioned decor, but looked after. The bed linen and towels were very clean. There is a nice terrace at the back with views of the sea. Entertainment is provided on certain nights.

The room was too hot and I could only open the window an inch. There was no air con or fan and it was very hot in there. The noise at night from the drunk customers sat outside at the Wetherspoons next door and then wandering around the area shouting at each other and singing all night on Fri and Sat night was quite loud.

It was easy to find, Lorraine who served me was excellent and helped change my room when I requested it and was most helpful and polite. The room I was given was large and comfortable but the view was not of the seaside which was impossible as the the hotel didn't face that way.

Great location. Very clean. Staff were all friendly & helpful. Plenty of choice of hot food at breakfast. Good outside terrace to sit & relax with a drink from the bar. . Single room was just as advertised on the website, had everything I needed in it. (Very clean,comfortable bed,hot shower & clean towels everyday) Great value for money.

Disabled access was poor for wheelchair user. Access ramp from exterior is too steep to push an adult up and then there was a door threshold to cross. Corridors to room very narrow to navigate with difficult right angle turns.

Excellent breakfast facilities with very friendly and accommodating staff.

Bed uncomfortable and a lot of noise with guests. Curtains very light so woken up as soon as daylight starts.

Very small bathroom no bath water took ages to warm up. Toilet was very cramped with shower door, shower also narrow. No availability of breakfast. Narrow corridors from lift with stairs to room. Room was big enough for a small table to sit at but wasn’t one.

Plug no where near kettle so had to put kettle on floor, sink not big enough to fit kettle to fill it

Bed was really comfy. Radiator warmed the room up quickly. Staff were friendly and informative. I didnt pay much for my room, i just needed somewhere to lie my head and the room was perfect for that
