Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI arrived and found two locals who lived across the road sitting on the steps. They did move when I arrived, and they said they lived opposite. Other properties surrounding were very shabby and with the neighbours, didn't give a good first impression. There is no reception, but I think this is common for the area. Once inside the building, it is very modern, very clean, and I was happy staying for one night. I paid for a parking permit, the area to park is vast, but it's also hilly. I couldn't park outside the hotel, and I felt for a lady travelling solo, it was not ideal.
The room was lovely, very clean, and everything I could have wanted. It would have been nice to have a bottle of still water to make a cup of tea or coffee in the morning. Everything else was there to make a drink. I liked the touches of a couple of snacks along with the usual tea and coffee sachets. The hotel is very close to the pier it was an ideal location.

United KingdomNoise from nearby pub and other residents. Appreciate it was a bank holiday weekend but even when using the complimentary ear plugs, we were woken by other people in the hotel. Especially those in the room above.
Clean and comfortable. Staff very responsive

United KingdomUnfortunately we found the mattress to be very uncomfortable, it was fairly soft, so it may be fine for others but it was not very supportive and we sunk into the bed and hit the wooden solid frame underneath.
Great location, the room was a lovely size, clean and the amenities were of a very good standard. Especially liked the large bathroom with fluffy bath robes, a nice extra. The ear plugs were a nice touch as well.

United KingdomSlightly worried about the description of inputting the code at the front door but wasn't a problem in the end.
Very comfortable and quiet in an excellent area to get out and about in Brighton. Only saw staff on the first day but they were very friendly and there were a lot free treats in the room which was a nice surprise. The room was very spacious and well decorated in a modern style. This style of hotel was ideal for me as it allowed me to come and go in my own time which it what I wanted for this trip. If I came back to Brighton, I would like to book here again for the comfort and convenience.

United KingdomToo many rules, making it a little stressful when you want a relaxing break. Not impressed with a window of only 3 hours to check in and then having to pay extra money if you don’t abide to this rule. What’s wrong with a key for the door instead of the hassle of trying several times to key in the code correctly. Very annoying. It’s not a hotel. Please don’t advertise it as one. Noisy.
Clean, comfortable and good location. Host was lovely but we were expecting a hotel not a guest house so we shouldn’t really have to inform 15 minutes before we arrive. But we enjoyed our stay.

Perfectly situated. We were attending a gig at Concorde 2 for my daughters birthday & this was the perfect place to stay. Everything was absolutely spot on. I have stayed numerous times in Brighton & this was the best place by far. Extremely comfortable & secure. Loved it!

United KingdomOnly downside was we saw a spider but that’s so minor and that was because we kept the window open so he got through there.
The cleanliness was a massive factor for us and we were blown away with how good it all was!

United KingdomNothing! It was just perfect for me!
I was very warmly welcomed by the host, the accommodation was absolutely spotless, smelled lush and was beautifully decorated… there were welcome snacks, a fridge with fresh milk and the most comfortable bed! It was a little noisy (nice noisy!!) at times in the street when I went to bed (but it’s a busy place with. great vibe!) and the host had that covered too, with complementary earplugs! Highly recommended and I was sad to leave!! Will definitely stay again! (Please! ❤️)

United KingdomA bit on the pricey side, but I think that's just Brighton during Pride weekend in general. You could definitely hear pretty much anything going on in the street below, but that's also to be expected for the area (plus the hotel provides ear plugs).
Perfect location for Pride and a lovely room well-stocked with snacks (and a welcome bag!). Communication was prompt and friendly, room and bathroom were clean. Would recommend :)
