To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United KingdomThe stairs were a bit of a killer, but equally…we knew this when we booked being top floor and no lifts. It was good for exercise! The lack of plug sockets in the room. It could’ve done with one or two more at least.
Amazing place in Brighton to stay. The perfect location, walking distance to the main strip beach and the Lanes and centre. But far enough to feel the peace and quiet. We stayed in room 18 on the seafront at the very top. It was gorgeous listening to the sea in the morning with the window open. Loved the balcony and free standing bath. The staff were so lovely and helpful from start to finish. A fantastic stay that we loved, even more than The Grand where we stayed the next day. Breakfast was cooked to order and the bircher muesli was dreamy!

United KingdomA lift would have been great, we were on the top floor which was four floors high and although the staff helped it was a long way up especially carrying luggage.. if we returned we would ask for a room on the first floor.
The room was lovely, very clean, the bed was a bit hard for my liking but that's just my own preference, we used the walk in shower which was fine, the bath in the actual bedroom we never used. But it looked very nice.
