Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

AustraliaThe reception keep emailing & messaging me for early payment with online check in and charged a very large cleaning fee Also required a $500 Euro bond on the credit card. Also gave us the wrong information about storing luggage after checking out on a Sunday as the downstairs concierge we found to be closed on the weekend. It took several phone calls to discover the reception was open on the 3rd floor and could take our luggage. The security safe was locked and unusable

United StatesReassigned apt from 103 building to another without asking. Checkin times not as advertised. Leave earlier. Insufficient staff. 2 towels for 5 day and one set of paper towels insufficient. Kitchen not well stocked. Not enough garage bags as expect you to clean and empty garbage yourself. No instructions on how to use kitchen appliances or Tv. Hallways poorly lighted.

United StatesThe first apartment (called Vintage) was tiny and not at all like the one we had seen advertised. When we asked if there was another apt we were told no they were fully booked and said that Booking.com was the culprit as they use different photos. There is a bottle bank right below the window so even with windows and doors shut you could hear the smashing of glass regularly day and night! At about 12 am on our first night a gang of teens gathered in the lobby screaming and laughing-they then moved the party to the apt next to ours. Despite calling the help number we got no support in fact we were told that apt was empty! Obviously we got no sleep until the noise died down in the early hours of morning. In the morning we called Booking.com and they contacted the manager-first she said there were no complaints in that building and that they had a "mechanical device" which would alert them to high noise levels. Luckily we had recorded the noise outside the apt so when we sent the recording they agreed to move us to the apt we had originally booked which was in an adjacent building, the manager who arranged this was a different one from whom we dealt with initially and we found her to be really understanding and helpful. United KingdomWe notified hosts of late arrival at 10.30pm and instructions were sent to us but they didn't make it clear that the apartment was at 103, not 101 which led to some confusion. Entry instructions to get through street door were confusing.
Great central location but noisy. Good comms and swift return of deposit. Good size main bedroom with en suite, second bedroom was fine for one person. Two bathrooms for a two bed apartment was a bonus

United StatesWe waited 2 hours for room. They kept changing the time.Were charged E40.00 extra dollars for our private taxi E220.00 they said he couldn't wait past 1pm. The taxi driver said he only waited 30 minutes and I told them arrival @ 10 am go through customs, get luggage should be ready by 12noon. The checkin and Apts building are different . You only get one key for the main doors which were very heavy and oy 1 side opened. And you had to literally step over a 12 inch step while trying to lift your luggage AND open the large heavy wood door. The location was great but noisy.
Location was great !! Staff kept in constant touch with us till as we had asked for early check in and to be picked up at the airport at 12noon ( arriving @10am).

PortugalIn the first apartment: bad insonorisation with other apartments, noisy at night sometimes very loud noise at around 2 or 3:00am, and also noisy in the morning around 5:00am. Size of the plates too big to fit the the dishwasher. In the second apartment: table pattern is very exquisite, wrought iron all around the dining table until floor, which does not allow to sit normally, since the knees cannot pass under the table. Air conditionning/heating was an old model and noisy. When sofa-bed is open in the living room, space is quite reduced.
Good situation to visit the city, 5mn to metro. Nice and efficient reception staff. First apartment, the living room was very spacious and lightful. Air conditionning/heating system efficient and modern. The second apartment had a nice terrace overlooking the Rambla Catalunya.

SpainWhen we arrived the apartment seemed clean but the floor was dirty, the internet never worked, the television channels were rare, and the staff only attends you from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. if you have to order something after that time, it is not possible unless make it an "emergency." by the way when you enter they charge you a deposit of € 500 which seems excessive for what the apartment is.
The apartments are big, it’s ideal for a family, the location is great.

Puerto RicoNo air conditioning in rooms, just in living room and dining room. Every time someone took a shower the lights would go out and we had to keep re-setting the main breaker. Called the staff and they sent someone the first day, but it kept happening. Beautiful old building but musty also.
Great location, ample apartment. We were a family of six and it was very convenient to have 4 bathrooms. You walk out of the building and you are just steps away from shops, cafes and Casa Mila and Casa Batllo.

MaltaThere was a late check in fee that was Euro 60 in view that we checked in at 1am. this was accepted by however, it is slighty overpriced.
The location is super central and the apartment itself was very large and well decorated. Very clean and secure. The beds were comfortable and balcony had a nice city view!

RomaniaThe bed in one of the bedrooms was made from two independent small beds and during the night it was separating, not really comfortable. The sofa in the living room was patched and old, not really like in the pictures on the website. In one of the bathrooms the glass was too small and the watter was spilling a lot on the floor when showering. No intermediate cleaning despite we stayed for 9 nights.
Incredible location, just perfect for our stay! Close to all major attractions, 20 min on foot to Sagrada, appx 40 min to Guell or down to the beach, really good conections for metro, bus and train, even for the airport. Exactly on the nicer side of La Rambla with great restaurants, bars, shops and people! We got a 4 bedroom apartment despite booking a 2 bedrooms one, nice balcony on the back of the building, really quiet, average looking flat at 4th floor, good stay.
