Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaVery friendly and homey, but privacy was respected. It t was my home away from home while I was having renovations. The owner, Georgia was especially helpful. Excellent location. Very quiet so sleeping was never a problem.

CanadaThere was a little mixup with appropriate taxes which was a little upsetting. Also there is no breakfast offered anymore so that needs to be removed from the description - no big deal!
I loved that there was a separate little kitchenette attached and that the room had two beautiful windows!

United KingdomUnfortunately currently no breakfast served. This was ok as we used it as an excuse to treat ourselves to breakfast in various diners and cafes nearby, however this does of course incur considerable extra expense.
Georgia was a great host - stayed 6 nights for my brother in law's wedding and Georgia was very helpful and informative throughout our stay. Our room was so lovely peaceful and large, with great storage, and the possibly the biggest and most comfortable bed I've ever slept in! Was genuinely sad to leave such a comfortable and well appointed room. Great location in Kitsilano - a short walk through woodland to a beautiful beach, and with great restaurant options on the main drag nearby.

CanadaThe room is at the front of the house and as it is on a busy street, one should be prepared to use the supplied ear plugs and other sleeping aids provided (noise machine thing, ear plugs in the night stand, fan). Once Georgia suggested I try running using these, everything was fine but the first two nights were very long and exhausting.
Due to COVID there is no breakfast option at the moment. Georgia is fantastic. The room (Queen/Cambria) is spacious and has a lovely little kitchenette which I used a lot, and a private bathroom. The bed is very comfortable and the room has everything a chain hotel would. I wish I had realized the TV comes with PVR and ON Demand- you can watch a lot of shows for free instead of searching around the guide! The WIFI is also free and pretty good- I did a LOT of MS Teams calls; between 1 and 3 PM I had to switch off my video but the sound was still sufficient. It's about as close to UBC as you can get without being on campus- a quick 7 minute drive most days as I visited my daughter every evening.

United States of AmericaThere was no breakfast. For over 200 USD per night it felt like a rip off with no breakfast nor daily room cleaning. The lady was nice but she just couldn’t stop talking. She even stopped me at the stairway to talk about Chinese pronunciation when I was on the way out. It feels like I was paying a crazy amount to stay in her house with her house rule. Items in the house are old. Very loud noise from the street- difficulties to sleep.
