Koh chang is a place for older folks, not alot of young travelers. Mostly french and russian people in 50's and up so you can see the vibe of the place. If you're up for some scuba diving they have a nice boat wreck wich i recommend to see. Unfortunately i got decompression sickness from it and spent 17 days in the hospital. Very bad souvenir i'd say from koh chang. I dived with BB divers wich was nice and professional, they asked me for followups of my situation pretty often. When there is no rain season don't fall for the waterfalls as there almost unexistant.
I spent 7 weeks on Koh Chang and stayed in a lovely hostel called Bee Sleep in Klao Prang. There is a lovely beach where you can float in the ocean and look up at the mountains covered with jungle. Very easy to get around the island by hailing a taxi truck. I would avoid both White Sand Beach which is commercial and overly crowded and Lonely Beach which is equally crowded with a younger crowd. Koh Chang is a very charming island, but you must get off the tourist trail. I swam in the ocean with 3-year old elephants (Chang in Thai). An unforgettable experience of a lifetime.
when you go near the waterfall, there's a little shop, there you can ask for a guide to hike. This young guy, took us around on this hiking trip which was like two hours in the jungle (beautiful) and then you get to the waterfall. Amazing experience. Koh Chang was my best holiday so far.
Koh Chang is lovely - I thoroughly enjoyed the snorkeling tour that I did. The jungle trekking I booked for didn't occur because there were not enough participants. But I went mangrove trekking instead. The waterfalls are beautiful and transport is easy to get because of the many taxis that service the area.
Koh Chang is relaxing, has beautiful beachs, good sea food on the beach. The night life in White Sands area has great Rock & Roll band at the Rock Bard and more relaxing music at the Sabay Bar! Enjoyed day trips to other beachs, and relaxing on the beach! Max bristo has great variety of food, and great Thai food.
Koh Chang is a big island, so it's hard to see too much of unless you're there for a good amount of time. I really enjoyed a 4 stop snorkeling trip (800 baht all inclusive). Also withing the White Sand Beach area, I enjoyed eating good Thai food up the hill between the 7-11 and the hostess bars. The food was cheap and really tasty! A fun bar to hang out in without the naughtiness of a lot of Thailand bars is Rockbar. There was a super fun band from the Philippines during my stay!
the hotel rooms look so old and so bed the lady who say she is the meneger name golf have very bad behavior instead trying to help just shout and say y must understand that the hotel old that is why the rooms look like this is vintage is it realy vintege no it is just old i did not find my room like in the pics in booking and she say yes we use photoshop my bad feelings in the hotel distroy my fun in koh chang and from now on i will not using booking any more
I'm Thai American and I like Koh Chang because it's balanced and has a little bit of everything. It feels secluded and private enough, while having enough activities and restaurants for those seeking more. The beaches may not be the best in Thailand, but the level of privacy, and not overly-touristy-ness makes up for it. Outer islands boat trip recommended.
Koh Chang is the second largest island in Thailand but unlike Phuket and Samui it is less developed. There are a number of 5 star resorts but also beach bungalows that are also basic but on quiet beaches. It is the perfect place to relax and put life into perspective. If you want you can go trecking, see waterfalls that you can swim in, visit markets and many other outdoor activities as well as the usual snorkeling and water sports. We enjoyed Klong plu waterfall and Bang Bao pier for a day trip. We also always got to the Mexican at Kai Bae. There are a few places along there that have good food.
Koh Chang Island is a very nice place for having adventures like boat rides to another islands, elephant riding with take a bath with the elephants. Also you can learn diving here. Snorkeling and diving spots are a lot here. You can book trips to Cambodia. Very interesting is a trip to the waterfalls in the middle of the island. A wonderful Rain Forrest on this national park make your working fabulous.

The vibe around the hotel whilst we were there was laid back..the breakfast has everything you could want including pad Thai green curry etc etc normally with lovely accoutrements. Manager upgraded our room without additional charge. He, along with the rest of the staff, were very friendly and helpful. The hotel has an infinity pool! We often swam in the pool in the evening after dinner. The hotel provides towels for both the beach and pool. Great location on a quiet street directly on Kai Bae Beach. It’s within walking distance to 7-Eleven, restaurants, shops, etc. We rented a scooter so we could visit other parts of Koh Chang. Breakfast buffet with both Thai and western dishes.

my favorite hotel on Koh Chang. I stay there every year. For me, the most ideal location in my opinion. Not far from lonely beach (5 minutes by bike, which can be rented at the hotel). Around the corner is a store that is open until 12 at night, a laundry and restaurants. The houses are located in a green garden, spaced apart from each other, which creates additional privacy. Very friendly staff). Ideal price-quality ratio. If you are a package tourist, then this hotel is unlikely to suit you.з

Loved our stay at sleep Inn! The bed was really soft and comfy which is hard to find in thailand! Room kept cool all day. You're right in the centre of lonely beach but it's so quiet at night and in the morning so slept really well! Would pay so much more for this standard of accommodation on a more developed thai island - amazing value for money. Would recommend to anyone staying on koh chang and if we returned would definitely stay here again.
We stayed at their family room and it was huge. The hotel building is located about 500m from the beach but there is a non stop golf cart service to take you there. Very nice beach with a fabulous pool and a good restaurant. All facilities very clean and well maintained, good breakfast. This is a good place to stay if you want quiet beach time and/or explore the east coast of Koh Chang.

Best accommodation in Koh Chang for Low Budget! Amazing seaview, hammock on the balcony, very good WiFi, Moskito net, clean and quiet. The owners are the most friendly and helpful people I ever met in Thailand. There is even a water boiler which you can use, a really delicious café/restaurant next door, and two cute cats who love to cuddle.

I love it there! I've been twice and I'm sure I'll come again and again. I'm not looking for luxury, I'm looking for Thailand and I found it on Koh Chang. Somewhere in Phuket, I felt a bit like I was in Europe. Plus, very calm sea with no surf, love Koh Chang.

This is the best accommodation and restaurant on the island of Koh Change. We went out for meals only to discover that saying at our hotel was better, a rare thing in most hotels. People from surrounding hotels came to us everyday. Staff and ownership gave superb service.

The hotel is of course on one of the nicest beaches on Koh Chang. It is a huge resort with many facilities and pools. The room selection is a bit hard as there are many buildings and of course the buildings on the sea-side facing rooms is nicer but less budget friendly.

Spacious, modern villa in a quiet place. Not typical place for Thailand and especially for Koh Chang. Nice pool and also they have grill. My family really enjoyed staying here. Car park is just right in front of the house. I would definitely come back here.
