This hotel is 656 feet from the shopping area of Velas and 0.6 mi from the harbor. It features a terrace overlooking the garden, the outdoor pool, and the Atlantic Ocean. The view was amazing. Location was excellent. Right across the street from Car Rental. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. Walking distance to many good restaurants and natural pool. 10 out of 10 for the staff…when we checked out at 6 am, it was raining so hard, the guy on duty at the front desk drove us to the ferry….(we had planned to walk to the ferry, and had not booked a taxi, so instead of letting us walk in the rain, we were grateful for the offer to drive us…he went above and beyond!!)

At the foot of the São Jorge Mountains, Hotel Solmar is less than 328 feet from the coastline. Its air-conditioned rooms overlook the Atlantic Ocean, Calheta Harbor or mountains. The room was clean and very spacious, equipped with an a/c which was very welcome in July. :) The location is great, close by a supermarket and restaurants. Good breakfast!

Very central situation in Velas, just 200 meters from the ferry harbour. Stylish interior design. Comfortable bed. Fully equipped kitchen and a outside terrace was shared with all the rooms. Room has a/c.

I loved everything about our stay. The yurt was a one of a kind experience & it being in between all that green made it even more special. Every morning there was a fresh homemade breakfast with products they grew themselves. We got good tips for places to visit & help whenever we needed. A good location for a hassle-free getaway in Urzelina, Casa d'Avó Guesthouse and Apartment is a farm stay surrounded by views of the mountain. Lovely house with fantastic views and very good facilities. The staff is super kind and helpful.
