The character of the place was great, having kept the vault door in the bedroom made it really unique. The decor in the lobby and the historical artefacts of Oamaru was really interesting. The breakfast concept also suited us very well. All in all, it’s a very well designed boutique hotel with very nice and attentive staff. Definitely worth the stop.

Built in 1881, Brydone Hotel Oamaru is located in central Oamaru, within walking distance of the historic town centre. We had one of the heritage rooms, which had recently been refurbished to a high standard. It was huge, and very comfortable, so we were delighted. Location was perfect.

Teschemakers Resort is set on a 70-acre land. The 3-star property is situated in Oamaru. All rooms feature a flat-screen TV with satellite channels and a private bathroom. Fantastic little place with a lot of atmosphere! the room had a lot of space, it was clean and super comfortable. The staff was amazing and welcoming, making us feel at hone, as every request was answered immediately. the internet was slow, but the hotel manager warned us before we even knew that there is a general issue related to the entire area, so it’s not the hotel’s fault. the AC a bit noisy, but it didn’t matter much as this hotel is a gem!

Your boutique accommodation at Moeraki is located opposite the beach and 20 minutes' walk from Moeraki Boulders and cafe. The location was perfect, not far from road, but totally away from road noise in a cute little seaside village. Property with nice gardens and sea views from the sun room and deck. Room was comfortable, decorated very nicely, and obviously well-cared for. Leonie was lovely hostess, friendly, provided local information, and available if I needed anything.

Featuring free WiFi and a restaurant, Otematata's Best Dam Pub offers accommodation in Otematata. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar. Rooms have a flat-screen TV. You will find a kettle in the room. Loved this place! Friendly, helpful staff and spacious, clean rooms with convenient restaurant for dinner down the hall. Situated in a peaceful rural town. I would go out of my way to stay here again.

The Heritage Gateway Hotel is situated in Omarama, at the crossroads of MacKenzie Basin, Lindis Pass and Waitaki Valley. It offers panoramic views and excellent hiking and biking opportunities. Hot breakfast buffet was the best we had on our trip to New Zealand. Can’t say enough how great the staff was!

A very welcoming, clean and comfortable place to stay! Dawn was so helpful and responsive. We were only a short 5 minute drive from the penguin colony and Dawn kindly offered us blankets to wrap in for the cold evening adventure - thank you! We enjoyed the lovely breakfast too!

The room was absolutely stunning and an interior designer's dream. We loved the Nespresso machine and Netflix. The best accommodation we stayed in over the 2 weeks we spent in the south island!
