Set in Ito, ISANA Resort offers accommodations with free private parking, a bar and family rooms. We had a wonderful stay at the Isana Resort. The rooms are fairly simple but with great individual open air hot tubs with soothing mineral spring water. What stood out the most were the wonderful staff who work there and the most amazing meals we had in our entire trip. Chef Hide Kurosawa is a young energetic chef with talent beyond his years. His Maui roots gave us islanders an instant connection with him. The food was sublime; a French Japanese fusion of amazing flavors with the freshest of ingredients. The dining room has a display of the wagyu beef aging and local fish drying. Both dinner and breakfast were fantastic. The staff, especially Vivian, was so welcoming and accommodating. Vivian’s English is terrific and she was so service oriented and cheerful always. We felt like we were visiting long lost relatives. The resort is on a cliff side overlooking the ocean adjacent to small winding streets and the coastal road. We had a car, which made the stay there more convenient as it would be more difficult to tour the gorgeous Jagosaki Coast without wheels. There is nothing in the world like lying in mineralized hot spring water, looking at the stars and hearing the sound of the waves. In addition to our room’s hot tub we could reserve the private onsen for use and it was never busy.

Located right in front of the ocean, Gardenvilla Shirahama features accommodations with ocean views and free Wi-Fi. This place is exceptional. The staff are all wonderful and kind. They made us feel welcome from the first moment we arrived. The rooms are lovely with a sea view that is just gorgeous! The breakfast was excellent, with lots of nice taste treats! There’s a bus stop going to either Shirahama Beach or into Shimoda very close by (1-2 minutes walk). There’s a swimming pool, bar and an onsen on site. This place just can’t be faulted!

The hotel is a great starting point for Yogosaki Trail and Mount Omuro. In addition, there is the goodest boy in the hotel - golden retriever Nagi, who is friendly and you can pet him. We totally recommend this place!

i passed by here in the course of a round trip through japan. honestly, i don't know exactly what brought me to shizuoka. but i can only say good things about the hotel and for me this fell into the category of "positive surprise". the hotel is within walking distance of the train station and therefore easy to reach. the lady at the reception was very friendly and straightforward. the room was very large and spacious compared to most other rooms i had in japan. the room was very affordable and i would return here again anytime.
Shizuoka
The owner and his wife were very friendly. They let us read all their manga and even lent us their bicycles, which allowed us to see all kinds of different thing in Shizuoka. The place had a very relaxing traditional japanese feeling, which we really enjoyed. They let us use all the facilities like the kitchen and fridge, so we could have even cooked our own dinner. Location was great as well, since we had the bicycles, the beach wasn't far. All that for a very cheap price. I can only recommend staying here if you are in Shizuoka!!!
This is a very convenient place to stay when visiting Shizuoka. The rooms are small, as in all Japanese business hotels, but nice, clean and comfortable. The bathtub is really nice! Breakfast buffet is included in the room price, and it's a very good breakfast with a good selection of Japanese and Western food. Furthermore, there is a 7-elven on the first floor, and lots of bars, restaurants and entertainment in walking distance from the hotel. Recommended!
The property is cosy and the hotel staff is one of the best I seen in Japan in terms of their attitude and service. Even they are not able to speak very fluent English, they tried their best to accommodate us and used their mobile to translate their information to us. Their manager Yoshihiro Inada is very professional and good in his service. The breakfast is homely and delicious too. I will rebook this hotel if I visit Shizuoka again.
It's pretty close to the Shizuoka Station, making things very convenient. After staying in two different hotels in Tokyo, I moved on to this one which cost about half as much as the previous two per night. As far as rooms went, this was a lot more spacious than I anticipated. For half the price of a 2/3 star hotel in Tokyo, you get a room in this hotel that's twice as big with the same amenities.
Everything is excellent, new hotel with cozy spacious lobby, free coffee and lounge space available from the moment you check in, onsen and breakfast was wonderful as well, apart from various choice of food there's even strawberry 🍓!room was nice and clean, giving a view to street of Shizuoka, location is very convenient to city center and shopping area, very nice experience. Definitely recommend!
Higashiizu
Very nice in-room open air onsen. We also tried private onsen on 1F. Fantastic experience. Hotel staff was extremely friendly. We missed the train in Shizuoka and had to arrive at Ito Inatori station around 18:54. Normally the check in time is until 18:00 and dinner cannot be served after 19:00. They were very nice to accommodate our late arrival and sent a driver to pick us up at the station
It is directly across the road from Shizuoka Station. There is an underpass where the exit is near the hotel. The room and toilet is clean. The bed is comfortable. There are many restaurants around the area, including in Shizuoka Station. Several malls can be found in the area behind the hotel. The counter staff can speak English and are polite and helpful. Will definitely return again.
5 minutes walk from Shizuoka Station. Direct underground passage from station to the street where the apartment is. Lovely street and close to family Marr, famous ichiran and Tully coffee. Excellent location. Netflix on the projected screen made our family vacation more fun in the evening. Was an extremely pleasant experience.
Yaizu
This was by far one of our Japan highlights, escaping from the crowds in the big cities. We only stayed one night on our way from Kyoto to Shizuoka, but we did not leave the premises the whole stay. Dinner, the onsen and breakfast were amazing and such a traditional Japanese experience the whole way through.
This is right beside Shizuoka station so it is easy to go around. I always stay here on business but Shizuoka has become a great place to go for leisurely visits as well. I have seen a lot of changes with the people, there are more young people now so there are more things to do for people my age.
If you are travelling for work, or need a small hotel to stay for a day (or two) during a work-, city- or roadtrip, or basically want a bare basics stay, then Hotel Oak Shizuoka can definitely meet you with that. It presents a clean and easy to stay place with friendly and accommodating staff.

It is extremely close to Shizuoka station. The breakfast buffet was very nice. Staff were very professional. Rooms were a good size and great views over the city. We had dinner at the Japanese restaurant and the restaurant was beautiful and the meal was exceptional.
Location was very easy to access from the train station, and close to all the shops and restaurants. As Shizuoka is a very walkable city, we found that it was easy to reach everything from this hotel. Room was also clean and spacious, had everything we needed.
Everything. It's a simple business hotel, but equipped with all I needed, and felt really comfortable during the stay. Staffs were friendly and attentive. I will surely stay here again when I go back to Shizuoka.

The place is very close from the JR Shizuoka Station. It’s clean and the shared bathroom is surprisingly spacious. Guests are also provided with towels, basic toiletries and pajamas.
