We (including 3yo and 4yo) stay a night before flying from Komatsu Airport. We stayed in a tatami (Japanese style) room with futon (mattress and blanket on the floor), which was perfect for small children. Also, it was very close to the airport and the JR station. We arrived by train late at night, being super tired. So we just went to a "conbini " (Seven Eleven inside the JR station) to get bento and rice balls, came back to the hotel, and heated them up with a microwave (one per floor?) for nice dinner. It is very convenient a short 'transitional stay". The price was very reasonable too.
