It has bamboo flooring (you take off your shoes at the entrance) both in hallways and rooms, it features a lush onsen, there is freely available ramen, there's a comic corner, etc The rooms on the other hand feature western beds and private bathrooms and (although small) were larger than what we were used to in Tokyo. The hotel and rooms are very clean and feel recently renovated. Staff is very welcoming and goes the extra mile.

The staff is formal, while remaining extremely welcoming. The location is a bit of a distance from city center but still walkable, with lots of restaurants and attractions within walking distance. Loved the jazz bar next door too!
