Hotel in Ambleside
With a picturesque location in Ambleside, Ambleside Salutation Hotel & Spa World Hotel Distinctive, BW Premier Collection features a modern spa and a brasserie. We liked everything, but mostly the staff service. Each of the staff members seemed to make our stay comfortable and happy by anticipating our needs and solving any little problem we had. The morning breakfast was excellent. The Hotel is situated in a quiet but lovely center, and the entrance is easy (we had some thought when booking because the picture on the website showed many steps leading to the entrance, but when we arrived, we realized that the entrance is on the side and very convenient). Unfortunately, we didn't have time to spend in the spa but we checked it and it seems excellent.

Whitbeck
Visited with my partner, Dad and small dog and it was exceptional. Couldn't recommend it more. My dad is a difficult man to please when it comes to hotels and he was delighted. The hotel and rooms were beautiful, clean and brilliantly equipped. The restaurant served wonderful, locally sourced food. The staff and owner were so friendly and helpful and extremely knowledgeable about whisky. The location was fantastic. Beautiful views, close to a beach and the western lake district and coast.
Excellent location for exploring Lakeland, especially the much overlooked Western Lake District. Cockermouth (2 miles away) is a very pleasant town and a good shopping centre, and much quieter than the touristy towns such as Keswick. A lovely shower with plenty of hot water and space. The convenience of a dishwasher. Private parking right by the apartment. A genial host who could not have been more welcoming and helpful.
Troutbeck
The room was refurbished to a good standard and was quite comfortable and offered a lot of drawer and wardrobe storage. Breakfast was included and offered a choice of options and was very good. The location is very rural and a good base for visiting the Northern and Western Lake Districts. Very happy that the hotel was dog-friendly.
Seascale
Great value hotel in Seascale which is an ideal base for the Western Lake District. Very friendly staff and an excellent breakfast. The bar is very well stocked and a good atmosphere as it is popular with the locals as well.

Wonderful happy staff. Big shoutout to Cameron, Sam, Friendly man from Sicily, Friendly lady with two braids. The team was excellent— Breakfast delicious, Beer selection and cocktails amazing!
We were upgraded to a suite and the overall experience was fabulous
We loved the large room with views up Derwent Water and the large outdoor deck next to a garden area ( room no. 40). The furnishings were very comfortable and included a small table and chairs by the view window. The bathroom had floor heating and the shower was a good size , hot water and with great water pressure. The well staffed restaurant is very large and included a separate section for hikers and people with dogs . The breakfasts were nice and the dinner menu had lots of options and prices very reasonable . The restaurant has lovely views across to the lake and mountain backdrop. The proximity ( about two hundred metres) to the Lodore ferry landing was very convenient and provided an opportunity to do a delightful Derwent Water walk by using the ferry to transfer to another location and walking back to the hotel. There is lots of free parking right at the hotel.
Our lake view room was large, and very comfortable. Fabulous scenery, just sit and enjoy the entire vista. A big bathroom with both bath and shower, and a magnified mirror....(I love that for putting on the makeup!) The breakfast was absolutely delicious, 100% to the breakfast chef and staff, all the staff were friendly and courteous and welcoming. We had dinner in the restaurant, again it was really lovely, and the waiter was very helpful in recommending a wine to compliment our main course. Will definitely stay here on our next visit to the beautiful Lake District.
Classic charm right out of the 19th century. I loved the classical theme and old English charm of the House.
Dinner was excellent. Location was very good. Totally, this hotel is good.
The view from our room was fantastic. The staff were on the whole very nice. The location of the hotel was fantastic.
Very kind and devoted staff. Amazing views and great Asian cuisine at the Mizu restaurant. Highly recommend!
Lovely setting, beautiful room and excellent breakfast
This was such a perfect hotel to stay in. The lovely little balcony with a view of the stream. The room was spacious, the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast provided was excellent. It was also very easy to visit nearby towns and access to local walks.
Easy access to the hotel. Beautiful location with an amazing view. Very quiet in the evening, recommended for people who would like to have relax. Our puppy had welcome biscuits with cute letter. Staff very nice, a lot of walks around
Plenty of space and nice and cosy
The food was amazing, the hotel itself had beautiful facilities, we particularly liked the lounge and we loved the spa. I liked the art work and the little wall decals were cute and funny. The staff were impeccable very friendly and helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The location was perfect, very close to the centre but lovely and quiet. Fully equipped kitchen, excellent shower. Really very nice.
Absolutely perfect. Such a lovely place, good taste and such care with details. Wonderful breakfast.
