The hotel is located in a ship with a varied history - used during wartimes, but also for trade, then for a playboy‘s party life, it had been left unused for many years before the current owners restored it. Hotel rooms are designed as cabins with en-suite bathrooms, breakfast and drinks are served in the upper deck. We loved the design of the rooms and common areas - high quality and nicely classic without any kitsch. Service was impeccable, and while breakfast was rather simple, the bar served very creative cocktails. Certainly a very unique experience!

Owners and staff were friendly and cheerful and helpful. Room was very comfortable and clean and full of original features. Good en-suite facilities. Breakfast was full of lovely options, and due to Covid restrictions, the dining was well spaced out. Views from breakfast dining room were very nice indeed. Great cycling countryside so would defo go back there with bikes. Thumbs up, Arden Hall Hotel :o)

The newer area of the hotel was very nicely decorated and clean, and the old part of the estate still had a very cosy feeling, especially the bar in the "library" where we could sit and have a few drinks after dinner.

Located in the centre of Edinburgh, just a few minutes’ walk from the Royal Mile and 650 yards of The Real Mary King's Close, Market Street forms part of Edinburgh’s historic skyline. Staff was great. Breakfast also, prosecco was a nice touch. Room was quiet, comfortable bed and pillows. It had all the necessary utensils you need in a hotel room.

Lovely room, spacious and tastefully decorated. Bathroom is big and with a nice shower. Loved the desk as I was travelling for wok so it was nice to have a sturdy, large area to work at without feeling like I was cramped in a corner. Buffet breakfast is generous and very tasty, and everyone was very helpful and polite. I asked to check-in early and reception was kind enough to let me do so. Excellent location and lots of amenities around.
